BAIRD -- Ermie Baird, 88, went home to be with Lord on May 22, 2004. She was born on November 4, 1915 in Llano, New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her husband Glen Samuel Baird and a grandson Jon S. Baird. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church since 1953. Mrs. Baird is survived by her sons, Michael Baird, James Baird and wife Dorothy and Glen Samuel Baird and wife Marian; daughter, Louella Mascarenas and husband Wilbert; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Ermie will be deeply missed by her loving family. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. BALLARD -- Ella Mae Ballard, age 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1990, went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 21, 2004. She is survived by her daughter Carol Pressley and her husband Jim, of Albuquerque, NM; two sons, Robert Ballard and his wife Carol, of Sarasota, FL, and Paul Ballard, of Seminole, FL; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Ella is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Ballard; daughter-in-law, Eileen Ballard; and her brother and sister. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday May 25, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors. CASALE -- Francesca Casale went into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 19, 2004, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cervinara, Italy on Tuesday, January 22, 1929. She had been a resident of New Mexico for 32 years. She was also part owner of the family business, Saggio's restaurant. Francesca was the most loving, giving and caring mother and grandmother. Her manner of living was evidence of her deep and profound faith in God. She was preceded in death by her parents Nunzio and Raffaela DeGregorio and her brother, Giuseppe DeGregorio. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michele "Mike" Casale; her three loving sons, Frank, Nick and Tony Casale and wife, Anita; grandchildren Fred, Michael, Nicolette, Nunzio, Alanna and Giannico Casale and sister, Nicolette Bello. Rosary will be recited Monday, May 24, 2004, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. CRAWFORD -- MaryAnn Crawford, 69, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 21, 2004. She is survived by her husband, John C. Crawford and her two daughters and their husbands, Jan Elise and Carl Cannon of Austin, Texas, and Lynn Renee, and Russell Cox of Alamo, California. She has 9 grandchildren; John Allen Cannon, Alex Cannon, Frank Cannon, Victoria Cannon, Jennifer Cannon, Cameron Cox, Regan Cox, Jonathan Cox, and Casey Cox. MaryAnn was born in Independence Missouri, June 29, 1934 to Loyal and Ella Northcott. Her father was a minister in the Christian Church so her childhood was spent in several towns in Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma concluding with her graduation from High School in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in music and elementary education. She and John C. Crawford were married on November 26, 1955 in Ponca City, Oklahoma and they moved to Albuquerque in 1962 and with the exception of an 8 year residence in Danville, California they have resided in Albuquerque ever since. MaryAnn taught kindergarten and elementary grades 2, 3, and 4 early on but subsequently devoted her attention to caring for their 2 daughters. She and her family have been members of Monte Vista Christian Church since 1962. She is a long time member of the PEO organization, currently a member of Albuquerque Chapter V. She is also a past member of Albuquerque Assistance League. Her life focused on her family and their activities and more recently had expanded to include an intense passion and love for her grandchildren and all their activities. She loved to travel and was always intrigued by other parts of the world and other cultures. Her two favorite pastimes were playing bridge and tennis with her friends and intricate needlepoint designs. Her outlook was always toward helping other people even during the days of her illness. During the last stages of her illness she was extremely well cared for by Presbyterian Hospice of Albuquerque which made it possible for her to remain in her own home. Her life was beautifully lived by the depth of her relationships with her God, her husband, her children and grandchildren, and her dear friends. A Service of Celebration of her life will be held at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 2:00 PM. DAWSON -- Mr. Edward F. Dawson, 46, a resident of Belen, New Mexico passed away on May 21, 2004. Mr. Dawson is the beloved husband of 19 years to Mrs. Dolores Dawson. Mr. Dawson is also survived by his father, Frank Dawson and wife, Maxine; four sisters, Margaret Hewitt, Patricia Rubeck and husband, Blane, Barbara Toon and husband, Patrick, Teresa Greenberg and husband, David; sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his mother, Muriel Dawson. Mr. Dawson was a member of the Catholic Church. GOLDEN -- Jean R. Golden, 86, of Rio Rancho, died at home on Sunday morning, May 23, 2004. Jean, a 25 year resident of Rio Rancho, NM, was born March 19, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY. She was a member of the B'nai Israel congregation and spent much of her time at the Meadowlark Senior Center. She was much loved and will be deeply missed by her children, Michael Golden of San Anselmo, CA, Sherry Horowitz of Croton, NY; brother, Paul Reinstein of Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren, Amy Horowitz, Demian Golden, Todd Horowitz, Django Golden, Reid Golden; and her great grandchild, Adia Golden. GONZALES -- Cornelio C. "Smokey" Gonzales, 77, peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, May 21, 2004. Cornelio is preceded in death by his parents, Coldoveo and Amadita Gonzales, and his brothers Arturo, James, and Leandro. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lucy, of the family home; his brother, Albert and wife Louisa of Fort Sumner, NM; his daughter, Elizabeth Kerwood and husband Tim of Lompoc, CA; his son, Benjamin Gonzales and wife Kim of Albuquerque, NM, and daughter Bernadette Gonzales and husband Jose Talavera of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by Rochelle Gonzales, his grand-daughter they raised since birth. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grand daughter, many extended family members and several friends. Cornelio was born to Coldoveo and Amadita Gonzales on August 14,, 1926 in Guadalupe, NM. Cornelio married Lucy Lopez on September 3,, 1960 in Fort Sumner, NM and they lived a happy life until he was called to be with our Lord and Savior. Cornelio proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was Honorably Discharged. He was a member and usher for St. Bernadette Catholic Church for over 20 years. He was also a Lifetime Member of the American Legion Post 99 and DA V Chapter 3. Cornelio served in the capacity of Chaplain for Post 99 for 16 years, and was a volunteer at the V A hospital during his free time. Cornelio was a wonderful husband, dad, "Grandpo" and brother. Cornelio will continue to thrive through his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. We will always love you so much dad and "Grandpo", but we know you are walking with the Lord and now in peaceful harmony. You will be greatly missed. HARVILLE -- James A. Harville, August 19, 1946 to May 8, 2004. My loving son, Tony, was born August 19, 1946 and left us, alone and lonely, May 8, 2004, to join his family and friends in a better place. He was a member of the New Mexico Air National Guard serving honorably in the Vietnam War, then retiring in 2002, after serving with the United States Defense Logistics, both in Colorado and New Mexico. He was a kind and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, generous to a fault, always putting others first. He has left a void in our lives and an unfillable hole in our hearts. HERRERA -- Francisco ( Frank ), (Poncho), Alfonso Herrera, 51, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 23, 2004. Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Eloisa, and their children, Rick Herrera and his wife, Amanda and Christine Watts. Frank is also survived by his three grandchildren, Justin Watts, Harley Flores and a granddaughter on the way, KeAnna Marie; he is also survived by his loving mother, Cecilia Aguilar Cordova and husband, Toby; two sisters, Patti Maestas and Robert, Tobey Woodall and husband, Steven; his brother, Mariano ( Chris ) Herrera; special nieces, Sophia and Jennifer Maestas, mother in law, Laura Trujillo; sisters in law, Helen Trujillo,Terry Lucero and Flora Sanchez and husband, Prospero; brothers in law, David Morris and Tino Trujillo; many other nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Herrera; a brother, Johnny Herrera and grandparents, Carlos and Carlotta Herrera. Born on December 13, 1952, in Albuquerque. Frank was a gifted and talented artist and craftsman who strived for perfection in all he did. Frank worked for the City of Albuquerque for more than twenty-two years. He will especially be remembered for his quick wit and his playful and loving personality. Children and animals were especially close to his heart. Frank will be missed by everyone who knew him. JENDRUSH -- Sister Mary Bernardia Jendrush, a Felician Sister of Rio Rancho, passed away at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Provincial House Friday, May 21, 2004. A native of Texas, she was born in Cestohowa to Barnard and Margaret (Jarzombek) Jendrush, who proudly baptized their third child Albina, in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. Upon completion of her high school education, she entered the Felician Sisters Convent in Chicago, Ill., June of 1943. In 1945, she began a 49-year education and administration ministry. Sister Bernardia served as a teacher or principal in Illinois, Minnesota, California, Nebraska, Oklahoma and her home state of Texas. An accomplished musician and choir director, she played the organ and led choirs in the parishes where she served as educator. From 1976 to 1983, she served in the fifth administration of the province as vicar. She also served as Postulant Director from 1977 to 1980 and Director of Pre-tertians from 1980 to 1983, after which she returned to active ministry in the education field. In 1995, the sister "retired" at the provincial hours where she continued to provide pastoral care in the infirmary and served as liturgist for the convent. She served as director of sisters in temporary vows from 2000-2003. She suffered a stroke on Nov. 1, 2003, while visiting her family in San Antonio, Texas, and never regained her health. During her illness, as throughout her life, she continued to intensify her prayer life and in her final months spent her days in prayer for all who had touched her life in some way, as well as for the needs of the world. Sister Bernardia was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Stanley Jendrush. She is survived by her sisters, Bernice Bronder and Theresa Sekula. Rosary service will be in the chapel of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Provincial House, 4210 Meadowlark Lane SE in Rio Rancho, Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at 7 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the same location Wednesday, May 26, at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary 892-9920.

JOHNSON -- Thelma Irene Johnson was born on September 14, 1914, in Manila (Philippine Islands) to Noah Haden and Anna Mae Shipman, and passed from this life on May 22, 2004, at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 8 days in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the past 22 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Johnson, on February 17, 1981, after 18 years of marriage. She was formerly married to Wallace Layton for 23 years. She is survived by five children: Hayden Layton and wife, Rosalie, of Endicott, New York; Foy Layton and wife, Martha, of Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas; Gloria Needham and husband, Stanton, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Charles Layton of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Marvin Johnson and wife, Janie, of Santa Ynez, California. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlotte Overton. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Victoria Layton; Raymond Layton; Debbie Birdsall; Sheri Moino; Wallace Layton; Michelle Owens; Jim Babineau; Kimberly Graves; Ginger Hendricks; Debbie Johnson; Elizabeth Johnson and James Newstetter. LODGE -- Lawrence L. (Nick) Lodge, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Saturday, May 22, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Albuquerque; sister, Mary Lodge; brother-in-law, Oliver and Marie Montgomery, niece and nephew all of Columbus, Ohio; special friend, Jackie Batt of Albuquerque; and many other friends. Mr. Lodge attended Ohio State University. He worked in the field of electronics at the former Antenna Research Lab in Columbus, Ohio before coming to Albuquerque with Sandia Labs, retiring in 1973. He had been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1931 and was a member of the American Radio Relay League, the QCWA, and the Upper Rio VHF Society. He was a member of the Ohio National Guard and a veteran of WWII, staff sergeant with the 83rd division of the 324th F.A. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date. MAYNEZ -- Ermelinda C. Maynez went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, May 21, 2004. She was born October 9, 1927 in Questa, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ignacio Maynez. A wonderful mother and friend, she is survived by 6 children and their spouses, including sons Dennis, Paul, Patrick, and Rocky and daughters, Ermie and Carol. She had 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and services will be held Thursday May 27, 2004, at St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph's NW, Albuquerque, NM. A Rosary will begin at 1:30 P.M. followed by a Mass at 2:00. Her remains will be buried alongside her late husband at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX, where a grave-side service will be held on Friday at 2:30 PM. SCHNEIDER -- Mary Margaret Schneider, 86, passed away peacefully May 22, 2004, with her family at her side in Albuquerque. Mary loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed writing poems, playing golf and bridge with her friends, traveling, and loved a good joke. She also loved music and going to the theatre. Mary is survived by her husband, Henry, of 63 years; sons, David Schneider (wife, Lynn) of Redondo Beach, CA, and Larry Schneider (wife, Teresa) of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Sydney, Jon, Jamie, and Joe; sister, Edna Krumhar of Carlsbad, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services held Monday, May 24, at 3:00 p.m., at the Faith Lutheran Church, 10,000 Spain Blvd., Albuquerque, NM; Pastor Bruce Wilder officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to The Faith Foundation Endowment Fund of the Faith Lutheran Church, Albuquerque in Mary's memory. God blessed Mary, God bless us all.

WILLIAMS -- Robert Owen Williams, 52, an artist, musician, teacher, and renaissance man, died Sunday, May 23, 2004. He is survived by his wife, D. Natalija Mataitis of NM; son, Soren Williams and wife, Mona of CA; daughters, Mette and Tristen Williams both of CA; son, Dylan Williams of NM; mother, Verna Williams of KY; sisters, Brenda Bangert and husband, John of CA and Bonnie Robertson of WA; brothers, Jerry Parman and wife, Parlee and Jason Williams and wife, Lisa all of KY; and many loving friends. He loved music and was a leader of the band, Maelstrom, for many years making and producing his own music. Robert was a writer, poet and designed and built his own home from scratch. Services will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
