CONNER -- Ethel J. Conner was born on January 28, 1927, and passed away from this life on Friday, April 2, 2004 at 77 years of age. Ethel was married to Jasper Conner on July 25, 1942. To this union God blessed them with two daughters, Vivian Jean and Mary Loraine and one son, Jasper, Jr. Jasper and Ethel had lived together for 62 wonderful years and were residents of Albuquerque for the past many years. Ethel was a wonderful wife and companion and stood by her husband all the years of their marriage. Ethel was a devout Christian and was a member of Evangel Christian Center in Albuquerque. Ethel would no doubt want to be remembered by her work with the Assemblies of God youth wherever she lived, including Roswell, Los Alamos, and Albuquerque. She will further be remembered as a friend to her pastors wherever she lived as she was always most supportive of them, their ministry and their families. Ethel is survived by her husband, Jasper; son, Jasper, Jr. and wife, of El Paso, TX; daughter, Vivian of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Thelma Taylor of Roswell, NM and Mary Greenhaw of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; numerous nephews and nieces; and a great host of friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Loraine; brothers, Johnny Holland, R.L. Holland, M.L. Holland and sister, Mamie Payton. Ethel's smile, helping hand and companionship will be missed by family and by a host of relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, April 5, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Evangel Christian Center, 4501 Montgomery Blvd. NE with Pastor Raymond Franks officiating. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM. EBY -- Ida May "Pat", born Mary 12, 1915 in St. Joseph, MO to Raymond S. and Ida Le Blanc Sentney. Her father raised registered Morgan horses and farmed in Hutchinson, KS. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1933 and attended Hutchinson Junior College. In 1937 she married Maurice J. Eby who was with 20th Century Fox. During WWII together they had a professional photography studio. In 1947, because of his health, the family moved to Las Vegas, NM continuing with another photographic studio. Taking a position at NMSU the family moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1952, Maurice passed away in 1967 and she then moved to Albuquerque. Ida May had a long and interesting life; at an early age (in the 1920's) she traveled with her parents through southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. She worked for the Hutchinson Police Department; she was a professional photographer, being published and exhibited internationally. She also worked as a floral designer and was an accomplished fine artist. In later years Ida May did restoration work on Native American art, pottery and kachinas for several galleries and museums throughout the southwest. Ida May is survived by her daughter, Maurcena Eby Wells of Albuquerque; cousins, Shirley LeBlanc Blady and Andre LeBlanc of New Orleans; "second daughter" and close friends, Marsha and Jim Cramer of Mesa, AZ; dear friends, Anita Da and family of San Ildefonso, NM, Anne and Leroy C'de Baca, Peter Wells, Rowena Demaree, Billye and Lucky Boyd all of Albuquerque. Cat companions Julio, Silky and Thai, (Mother, I always loved you and will miss you.) She was Catholic. Cremation has taken place. Rosary will be held Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Deacon Pilar Garcia reciting. A memorial service to follow. A special thank you to all her physicians and the staffs of Lovelace Hospice at Albuquerque Regional Medical Center and Manor Care Heights for their excellent care and support the last few weeks. FRANZEN -- Margaret Alice Franzen, 100, died on April 1, 2004. She was born October 15, 1903 in Minneapolis, MN and had lived in Elmhurst, IL and St. Paul, MN before moving to Albuquerque 52 years ago. Margaret was a wonderful cook, receiving blue ribbons at the New Mexico State Fair for her white bread and was known for her banana cream and strawberry pies. While living in Minnesota she tested recipes for Betty Crocker. She also loved to garden, raising a variety of vegetables, fruits and flowers which she often shared with friends and family. She was active in Progess Women's Club and First Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the Women's Association and Circle and was a deacon. A favorite hobby was bridge and cribbage. Margaret was always a happy person and never complained. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, her parents, two sisters and a brother. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Wunsch and husband, Donald and Jeanette Buffett and husband, George, all of Albuquerque; son, Richard Franzen and wife, Skip of Palm Desert, CA; grandchildren, Debbie Franzen Byrd of Marysville, TN, Donald Wunsch II of Rolla, MO, and Thomas Wunsch, George Buffett II, John Buffett, and Patricia Buffett, all of Albuquerque; eleven great grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be Wednesday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church Chapel. GANDARA -- Abdonsa Gandara, 93, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully in her home on March 31, 2004. She was born September 22, 1910 in Guadalupe Bravos, Chihuahua, Mexico. As a young adult she moved her family to Texas, and later New Mexico, to seek a better life and education for her children. From there flourished a large family that has maintained its New Mexican and Texan roots. Her generous, maternal spirit along with her fantastic cooking abilities, assured warmth to the heart as well as the stomach of any visitor who entered her home. She was preceded in death by three children, Francisco, Emma, and Edmundo; granddaughter, Kimberly; and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by three children, daughters, Gloria Escarcega and Marta Gandara, both of Albuquerque; and son, Ricardo Gandara of Austin TX; grandchildren, Annette Mcginty and husband, Dave, Tim Archuleta and wife, Carla, John Archuleta and wife, Kristi, Joel Archuleta and wife, LeeAnn, Ricky Archuleta, Martin Gandara, Missy Pruett, Yvonne Duran, Mateo Duran and wife, Naomi, Andres Duran and fiance, Rachel, Alexandra Gandara, Victoria Gandara, and Isabella Gandara; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren. We would like to give, at this time, a special and heartfelt thank you to Lupe Madrigal, of Heritage Healthcare, who served as an exceptional caretaker and friend to Mrs. Gandara for the past four years. GRIEGO -- John W. Griego, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, April 3, 2004. HILL -- Tim Hill, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died Thursday, April 1, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Anne Benefield and husband, Joe of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Kelly, Jamie, Leslie and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Sierra, Sam, Tori and Tobie; sister, Cora McClain and husband, Roger; and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his son, Timmie Hill. Tim was a good man, loved by many and owned and operated Tim's Radio. PACO -- Ruben Paco, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, died on Sunday, April 4, 2004. He is survived by his sons, Daniel P. Paco and Julian J. Paco and wife, Gwen, all of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Candy Paco of Albuquerque; daughter, Laura P. White of N. Richland Hills, TX; grandsons, Anthony Paco, David Paco, Johnny Darnold and Andrew Griego; granddaughters, Christie Anthony, Kimberly Paco, Michelle Paco, Amanda Paco, Kimberly White, Angelica Isenock and Georgia Griego; great-grandchildren, Megan Anthony and Makayla Paco; sisters, Katie Beauregard of Albuquerque and Maggie Trejo of Silver City. Ruben was preceded in death by his wife, Phoebe, in March, 1984 and his son, Martin Paco, on February 4, 2004. Ruben was the owner of Ruben's Shoe Repair from 1965 to 2001. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Ruben was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many customers. SANCHEZ -- Adelina--Mrs. Adelina Sanchez, 91, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 3, 2004. Mrs. Sanchez is survived by three daughters, Gloria Mitchell, Carmen Chavez and husband, Joe, and Shirley Boettger; three sisters, Atanacia Tapia, Felia Lucero, and Rosie Duran; one brother, Joe Duran and wife, Rebecca; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Sanchez; four sons, Felix, Fito, Alfie, and Johnny; two daughters, Gloria and Elysia; and two sons-in-law, Bill Mitchell, and Walter Boettger. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic church and a member of the Legion of Mary. A visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon J.O. Luna. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande by Father Prieto. SAVEDRA -- Jesusita "Susie" P. Savedra, age 79, passed away on Friday April 02, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Village in Socorro, NM. She was born on November 19, 1924 to Pablo and Josefita (Serna) Padilla in San Marcial, NM. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe L. Savedra; son, Christopher Savedra and daughter, Helen Gonzales. She is survived by her son, John Armijo Jr. of Socorro and Edward Savedra of El Paso, TX; brother, Leo Padilla of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Esther Peralta of Albuquerque; grandchildren: Arlene Gonzales, Ernie Gonzales, John Armijo III, Natasha Savedra and Sarah Savedra; great grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, Robert and Elena Gonzales. Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 5, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel with Father John C. TIMLIN -- Francis E. Timlin Col. USAF Ret., age 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died on Friday, March 26, 2004. Francis is survived by his son, Francis E. Timlin Jr., of Seattle, Washington. Col. Timlin retired from the United States Air Force in 1970, after 30 years of service. He then worked as a realtor in Albuquerque for 25 years. A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 5, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Fern Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 11:30 a.m., in the Chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE, with Father Wieslaw Strazadala, Celebrant. TOMARI -- Stephen J. Tomari, 55, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died Friday, April 2, 2004, after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary A. Tomari of the family home; son, Ryan M. Tomari of Albuquerque; sister, Lynette Burgert and husband, Stephen of Rio Rancho; and step-father, Otto Blaszka of South River, NJ. He was preceded in death by his mother, Regina Blaszka and father, Steven Tomari. Stephen was born and raised in South River, NJ. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and held a professional engineering license. Steve was employed by Sandia Labs until his illness. He was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Monday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Celine Radigan and Maria Kelly reciting. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW, with Father Frank Prieto, Celebrant.
