Atencio -- Tobias (Toby) Atencio, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, joined his precious Lord, Jesus, and his beloved wife, Cora, Tuesday, February 18, 2003. He is survived by four children, Jeanne Mondragon and husband, Joe, of Silver City, NM, Kathy Atencio, Toby Ray Atencio, Richard Atencio and wife, Emma, all of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Joshua Mondragon of Albuquerque, Janiah Shields and husband, Oren, and Jacob Mondragon of Silver City, NM, Zach Atencio, Luis Atencio, Brandy Atencio, Jennifer Atencio, Taylor Atencio, and Quentin Atencio all of Albuquerque; one brother, Alfonso Atencio and wife, Emma; and one sister, Celina Carrillo of Velarde, NM, numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Toby was born in Velarde, NM and served in the Air Force. He retired from the Air National Guard, 250th Tactical Fighter Wing, nicknamed the"Enchilada Air Force" at KAFBin 1988 with the rank of MSgt. He was an airplane mechanic for many years then became a Logistician. He sidelined as a Realtor. Toby was an avid hunter and camper. He was a member of 2nd Presbyterian Church since 1953 where he served as an Elder and sang in the choir. He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang solos at many weddings and funerals. Toby had many, many, friends and was well known for his generosity and his willingness to help anyone, anywhere, at any time. Many people thought of him as their second father or grandfather. Toby had Parkinson's Disease for many years. He left this world on his own terms surrounded by his children, grandchildren, brother, sister, and some nieces and nephews at Lovelace Hospital. His spirit was set free of his body's ailments and he went into the light. Memorial Services will be held at Second Presbyterian Church 812 EdithNE, Tuesday February 25, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be atSunset Memorial Park, 924 MenaulNE, Tuesday February 25, 2003at 2:00 p.m. with full military honors. Gifts may be sent to Second Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers.

Baca -- Flora G. Baca, 89, a resident of Adelino, and recently living in Albuquerque, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2003 in the presence of her loving family at the home of her grandchildren, Mario and Laura Sanchez in Los Lunas. Mrs. Baca was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon C. Baca; her parents, Francisco and Emilia Baca and (Pedro and Petrita Gallegos); her two angels, Kate and Mabel Baca; and her beloved sister, Mary Baca. She is survived by her five daughters, Mary Lou and her husband, Wes Cavenee, Patsy and her husband, Frank Apodaca, Magdalen and her husband, Frank Neel, Erlinda Baca, and Theresa and her husband, Peter Cordova; her son, Joe R. Baca; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; her four brothers Alferes and Esmael Gallegos, Larry Jaramillo, and George Baca; one sister, Fela Lucero; and one sister-in-law, Lola Baca. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Private Cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Tome on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Monsignor Sipio Salas. A graveside service will be held following the Mass at the Tome Catholic Cemetery. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.

Baca -- Patsy P. Barnes -- Doris Marie Barnes, age 75, passed away February 12, 2003 in Denver, CO. For many years, Doris was an active member of 1st United Methodist Church and of the Rehabilitation Center, Inc. Auxiliary in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oakley Barnes; sons, Oakley Barnes, Jr. and Jeffrey Barnes. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Thomas; and her children, Nathan, Jessica, Natalie and Chris Thomas, all of Albuquerque; numerous family and friends in several states. Memorial Services performed February 15, 2003 Denver, CO. Interment to followed at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Cherne -- Dorothy Cherne, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1998, died Monday, February 17, 2003. She is survived by her six children, John, Cindy, Becky, Ric, Gary and Jerry; 11 grandchildren, Jessey, Cassandra, John III, Dominic, Todd, Jonathon, Scott, Jennifer, Sean, Ryan and Erica; and ten great-grandchildren. While in Albuquerque, Dorothy lived with and was cared for by Becky, Cindy and Jessey. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Clark -- A Memorial Service for Capt. Laurel Salton Clark, USN, will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3701 Carlisle NE. Capt. Clark was a member of the crew of Space Shuttle Columbia, all of whom were killed on reentry on February 1, 2003. Laurel is survived locally by her father, Robert Salton and his wife, Harriet; brother, Jon Salton; as well as her stepbrothers, Matthew and Nathaniel Brown. Memorial Donations in Capt. Clark's name may be made to the Rock Art Foundation or the World Wildlife Federation.

Courville -- Arita H. Courville, 93, born in Attleborough, MA, on December 21, 1909, passed on peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2003, from complications of pneumonia. Mrs. Courville was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Albert L. Courville in December 1960. She is survived by their two daughters, Audrey Ryan and Barbara Shepherd (Jim), of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Keli Watts (Ian) of Kettering, England, Patricia Birge (Scotty) of Cape Canaveral, FL and Michael Ryan of Hilliard, OH, Gregory Shepherd (Lucy) of Phoenix, AZ and Robert Shepherd (Shelly) and Duane Shepherd of Flagstaff, AZ. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Rhiannon Watts, Lindsay and Daniel Birge, James Michael Ryan, Jr., Abigail and Benjamin Shepherd, Nathan Mertz, and Megan Shepherd. Curley -- Tom Curley, Sr., 92, a resident of Albuquerque for 71 years, died Thursday, February 20, 2003. He is survived by his son, Tom Curley, Jr. of Dallas, TX; grandsons, Steve Curley of Houston, TX and Brian Curley and wife, Mindy of Austin, TX; and great-grandchildren, Neil Curley, Emily Curley, both of Houston, TX, Shayna Curley and Anton Curley, both of Austin, TX. Dimas -- Jimmy A. Dimas, 66, passed away Friday, February 14, 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Dimas; son Raymond Dimas; mother, Mary Griego; brother, Leroy Dimas; sisters, Elizabeth Griego, and Christina Romero; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his family in Bent, NM; Lisa Gallegos, Lisa Gallegos Jr., Joe Gallegos II, Kathy Austin, and all of his dearest friends from Victory Outreach, including his Pastor Jerry Leyba. Memorial Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bent, NM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2003.
