ANDRUS -- Carl Edwin "Andy" Andrus, born August 23, 1918 passed away November 14, 2003. Andy was retired from the Army, having served in the Philippines, Italy and Korea, and served in the Army CID. He is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; daughter, Chris Andrus Williams and husband, Brian; stepsons, Richard and Douglas Clifton; beloved grandchildren, Brad Clifton, Jeff Clifton and wife, Monica, Tracy Clifton, Carla Clifton, Rachel and Nick Williams; and four great-grandchildren. No service will be held. Friends and family may celebrate his life at his home from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2003. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to the charity of their choice. Direct Cremation is in charge of arrangements.

DUHIGG -- Cassius (Cash) Duhigg, M.D. died on November 11, 2003. He is survived by his children, Nancy, David and Kevin Duhigg; by his parents, John Duhigg and Marjorie Kennedy; by his brothers, David, Pat, Sean, Charles and Dan Duhigg; by his sisters, Jacqueline Duhigg Randall, Amy Viramontes and Katy Duhigg. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Duhigg. Funeral Mass will be at the Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd. NE at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2003. The Rosary will be recited at the Newman Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2003. In lieu of sending flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Newman Center or your chosen charity.

DUTY -- Mary Lois Duty, 80, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, November 13, 2003. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn B. Winfrey and husband, Ronald of Michigan City, IN, Sandra Joy Lacoste and husband, Jerry of Murchison, TX, and Gail Lois Thompson and husband, Bob of Albuquerque; son, Gregg E. Duty of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Burl E. Duty. Lois was a member of First Baptist Church for over 54 years where she enjoyed playing the piano at church events. She was an active member of her church and spent time volunteering her time at nursing homes and the Lions Club. Services will be held Monday, November 17, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway NE, with Pastor Steve Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ron Winfrey, Jerry Lacoste, Carl Dabbs, Rodney Stewart, Glen Bucalo, Chad Fletcher. ESTEVAN -- Antoinette A. Estevan, 83, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Eva Marie Elsner and husband, Bruce; grandson, Eric P. Elsner, all of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Karen C. Elsner of Victoria, TX; and sisters, Mrs. Martin Vigil of Tesuque, NM and Mrs. Irving Alonzo of Albuquerque. Mrs. Estevan was preceded in death by her husbands, Peter R. Stephens and Bernard G. Estevan; parents, Manuel and Eva Abeita; and brothers, Lummis Abeita and Willis Abeita. She served during WWII in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Mrs. Estevan worked for many years as a nurse at the Albuquerque Indian School Hospital and P.H.S. Indian Sanatorium. She was a member of the Isleta Tribe. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. FRAME -- Eldon. "El" passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gwen; and his son, Scott. He is survived by his son, Terrance (wife, Kathy); and grandchildren, Melinda and Craig. El was born in Bevier, MO on November 11, 1921. He was raised in Quincy, IL and graduated from the US Naval Academy, Class of 1946. He served as a fighter pilot and as Executive Officer of USS Greenwood during his time in the Navy. He worked for Sandia National Laboratories from 1955 until his retirement in 1987. During this time he was recognized as a "Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia Labs." He was active in Boy Scouts as Scoutmaster of Troop 166 and received the Silver Beaver Award for his contributions. He was also a member of the Naval Academy Alumni Club and Faith Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Rd. NE. Family will meet friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Sunrise Cremation Society in charge of arrangements.

FRANKLIN -- James Anthony Franklin, 69, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 14 years, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2003. James was born January 15, 1934 the son of Robert K. and Mary Ellen Kelly Franklin in Brooklyn, New York. After coming to New Mexico, he was an Evidence Technician with the Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety. James served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Italian American Club, and the Policeman's Benevolent Association. James is survived by five children, Michael Franklin and wife, Peggy of Rio Rancho, Theresa Bryant and husband, Jared of Rio Rancho, Robert Franklin and wife, Lidey of New York, Lori Franklin and Cindy Flores of Nevada; one sister, Mary Velletta of New Mexico; one brother, Gerard Franklin of Colorado; and ten grandchildren. Visitation will be held for James on Saturday, November 15, 2003 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 16, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be provided by the Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety. MCCOLLUM -- Mozelle McCollum, 95, born July 4, 1908 died November 13, 2003. Memorial services for Mozelle McCollum will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2003 in the Otto Chapel at Landsun Manor with Chaplain Erwin Van Essen of Landsun Homes and Pastor Sam Lanham of First Presbyterian Church officiating. A private entombment will follow at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. Mozelle McCollum was born July 4, 1908 in Talihina, OK. She was the youngest of three daughters of Lee and Effie Lee Adams Armstrong. She was married to Virgil O. McCollum Jr. on January 25, 1929 in Clovis, NM. They resided in Carlsbad for 29 years. Mr. McCollum was a longtime employee of U.S. Potash Company in Carlsbad and U.S. Borax in Los Angeles, CA. They moved to Los Angeles in 1959 and returned to New Mexico in 1970. They lived in Albuquerque until 1990 when they returned to Carlsbad. Mozelle loved to play bridge and had been a hospital volunteer (gray lady). She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church for many years and was quite active in the church. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include son, Dr. Virgil O. McCollum and wife, Carolyn, of Carlsbad; daughter, Ann Sawey and husband, retired Col. James Sawey, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jane Castillo, Leslie Sawey, Michael and Dr. Mark McCollum; and nine great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the McCollum Family Fund at Landsun Foundation, 2002 Westridge Rd. or to the charity of your choice.

MIERA -- Orlando Paul Miera II, 44, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Miera; daughter, Amanda Miera; son, Daniel Miera; parents, Kitty and Orlando Miera; sister, Rosemary Schrock and husband, Dave of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Steve Miera and wife, Rhonda; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Orlando was a loving husband, father with two children, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law and brother-in-law who was very loving and giving. He was the Chief Operating Officer and CFO of his own business, Miera Consultants, Intl., LLC. Orlando had the best laugh. He was caring, happy, gave of himself from the heart, always willing to help, and be wherever help was needed. Always smiling! Orlando never told anyone "no"--it wasn't in his vocabulary. He was a sports fanatic, and loved working with children and sports. He was president of Mile High Little League. He lived his faith to the fullest and touched many lives. Orlando was thought of very highly by all who knew him. MONDRAGON -- Carlos Mondragon passed away early Friday morning. Carlos was born in Ft. Sumner, NM in April of 1968. Carlos is survived by his mother Dolores Chavez, his father Don Mondrgon, biological father Bonie Lopez loving wife Cynthia Mondragon, four children Antoinette, Dolores "DeeDee", Carlos, and April. Carlos has three brothers; Johnny, Mack, Donald and his wife Lisa. He has two sisters; Delfina Gonzales and husband Demetrio, Consuelo and husband Manuel and a grandfather Maclovio Mondragon. Pallbearers will be Miguel Contreras, Jose Saiz, Randy Atencio, Gerald Angel, Clyde Lopez, and Danny Jaramillo. Rosary service will be Sunday 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Church. Funeral services will be Monday 10:00 am also at St. Ann's. Burial will follow at Pajarito Cemetery.

MONTOYA -- Heraclio "Laco" M. Montoya, 79, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2003 in Socorro, NM. He was born January 20, 1925 to Heraclio A. and Maria E. (Luna) Montoya in San Antonio, NM. He is preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Garcia, Julia Torres and Victoria Torres; and two brothers, Frank Montoya and Joaquin Montoya. He is survived by his wife, Anne Lee (Padilla) Montoya of the family home in Socorro; son, John Montoya and wife, Diana of San Antonio, NM; brother, Deciderio Montoya and wife, Angela of Albuquerque; sister, Isabell Chacon of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Melinda Montoya, John Montoya, Jr. and Michael Montoya. A Rosary was recited on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church with Father John C. Daniel as Celebrant.. Burial will be in the San Antonio Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM.

PALMER -- Robert Madden Palmer passed away November 12, 2003. He was born March 28, 1912 to parents Levering Palmer and Pearl Klotz Palmer in Carthage Illinois. Bob (as he preferred to be called) was a Disabled Veteran of WWII. He served with the Military Police and Border Patrol. In his lifetime Bob has been head maintenance at Camp Pendleton in San Diego California; he also worked for many years as a dispatcher in the Fire Department at Los Alamos. He was also an electrician, and had a Ranch in Ojo Calente. In 1969 Bob Married Agneda Sanchez, a teacher in Rio Arriba County Schools. Over the Years Bob and Agneda lived at the ranch in Ojo Calente, Later moving to Alcalde, and finally to Albuquerque. They also had a winter home in Brownsville, Texas. Bob is preceded in death by his sister, Mary; and his brother, Paul. Bob is survived by his wife, Agneda; his daughter, Melissa and her husband, Jeff; three grandchildren, David, Jason, and Mary; and five great-grandchildren, Deven, Shawn, Vivian, Jeffery, and Brinan; Bob is also survived by six nieces and nephews, children of his brother Paul. Viewing is going to be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2003 at Metropolitan Direct Burial, located on San Mateo South of Lomas, in Albuquerque. Memorial Mass is to be held at St. Therese Church, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2003 also in Albuquerque.

POKORSKI -- Raymond H. Pokorski, 84, passed away Thursday evening, November 13, 2003. He was born on June 1, 1919 in Omaha, NE. June Pokorski, his wife of 57 years, preceded him in death last year. He was a Veteran of World War II and served as a forward artillery observer in the Philippines. He is survived by his daughter, Sally VanArsdale and her husband, Howard of Albuquerque; son, Rich Pokorski and his wife, Cindy of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Stacy Pokorski, Becky and Sam Newmon, and Dana and Jason Elliott. A small private service was held Friday evening for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers and donations, the family asks that you keep his memory alive in your thoughts and prayers.
