Anaya -- Adelaida"Ida" Anaya, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was born November 26, 1947. She left us at her home May 26, 2003, with her loving family at her side. Ida loved the mountains, trees, camping and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her father Bruno Anaya and is survived by her mother Agnes Anaya; three daughters, Annette Lucero and husband Eric of Belen, Lisa Lovato and Selinda Guerrero both of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Vanessa, Phillip, Joseph, Johnathon, Jordan, Erica, Dominique, Jodeci, and Steven; great-grandson, Trevon; two brothers, Abel Anaya and wife Margaret, Benjamin Anaya and Linda; sister, Barbara Anaya; partner David Rubi; two half sisters, Emma Reyes and Orleana Casaus; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Viewing and Funeral Services will be held at San Felipe Catholic Church in Old Town. A viewing will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2003. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2003. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Lucero, Vincent Anaya, Phillip Lovato, B.J. Baca -- George A. Baca Jr. died Sunday, May 25, 2003 at the age of 32. He is survived by his father, George Baca Sr.; mother, Stella Montoya; children, Andrea Baca and Angelic Baca, all of Albuquerque; brother, Joseph Baca and wife, Clara of Vacaville, CA; sisters, Lydia Yvonne Wright of Albuquerque, and Annette Vigil of Bernalillo; grandmother, Emilia Vallejos of Albuquerque; and several uncles, aunts, and extended family members. Bannowsky -- Mary Irene Bannowsky, 84, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 12 years, passed away Friday, May 23, 2003. Irene was born Monday, March 24, 1919 in Farmington, NM to Rosa Belle Stallings, nee Warren, and Lorenzo Stallings who homesteaded in the Waterflow and Fruitland areas of New Mexico. After graduating from high school in 1937, she attended Mt. St. Joseph Junior College in Maple Mount, Kentucky where she earned her AA degree. In 1942 she attended New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM where she earned a B.A. degree. In 1969, she received her M.Ed from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. Irene taught at Caney High School in Caney, OK and Tse'Bit'ai Middle School in Shiprock, NM for many years. Irene is survived by her daughter, Frances Bannowsky; son, Lovell Alonzo"L.A." Bannowsky, III and wife, Geraldine McBroom of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Alyson Munday and husband, Eric of Seattle WA, John Bannowsky of Kihei, Maui, HI, Chris Bannowsky and his wife, Maggie, of Steamboat Springs, CO; great-granddaughter, Grace Mundy; sister, Frances Mahoney of Tucson, AZ; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, John Laurence Bannowsky; grandson, Simon Smith; sister, Pat Ryan and brothers, Warren Stallings and W.H. Charters. Irene was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will be recited Wednesday, May 28, 2003, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Brazie -- Ardyth F. Brazie, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951 and formerly of Peterson, Iowa, died peacefully Sunday, May 18, 2003. She is survived by her two sisters, Evelyn Weik of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Cleo Holiday of Black River Falls, Wisconsin; three nieces, Lee Ann Stransky of Elkhart, Indiana, Linda Moore of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Julie Greer of the Black River Falls, Wisconsin area; her dear friends, Jimmie and Jerry Alkire of Hiawatha, KS and Carl Shaw and family of Albuquerque. Ardyth was preceded in death by parents, Ervin and Lulu (Tuttle) French; husband, Arland F. Brazie, on September 29, 1999; nephew, Jerry Holiday; and a great nephew, Tom Stransky. The daughter of Ervin and Lulu (Tuttle) French, Ardyth was born on April 16, 1919, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Her childhood years were spent in Royal, Iowa, beginning 1920 and then to rural Peterson, Iowa as of 1924. Ardyth graduated from the eighth grade at the"Country School" and then from Peterson High School in 1936. Ardyth enjoyed growing up on the farm and shared many fond memories with her sisters, cousins, and neighbors. Ardyth married Arland Brazie of Little Falls, New York on April 14, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. Following their marriage, they resided in various places during Arland's time in the service including Annapolis, MD, Germany, CoCo Beach, Florida, and Albuquerque. Ardyth had been employed in the office in the military personnel building in Camp Claiborne headquarters in Alexandria, Louisiana prior to meeting Arland. Ardyth enjoyed sewing, playing golf and bridge. She was an officer in the Officers Wives Club of Patrick Air Force Base and also the Wives Club of Kirtland Air Force while in Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. NE. Chavez -- Eulalio M. Chavez, on July 15, 2002, our mother, Grace V. Chavez went home to be with Our Lord and Savior, and now, Saturday, May 24, 2003, our father, Eulalio went home to be with Our Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest Ruben Chavez and leaves behind two sons, Eulalio Chavez Jr. and wife, Lorraine, and her son Paul Ortiz, and Alex Chavez; five daughters, Rosalie Montoya and husband, Lorenzo, Alice Chavez, Sylvia Chavez, Patricia Gutierrez and husband, Toby Gutierrez II, and Norma Alfaro; seven grandchildren, Cynthia New and husband, Terry, Delia Montoya, Yvette Marony and husband, Chris, Joseph Alfaro, Nicole A. Davis -- Michael Hall Davis, 55, of Albuquerque, graduate of Sandia High School in 1965, and a carpenter by trade, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 22, 2003 after a courageous 10-month long battle with cancer. In dying, he left behind his soulmate, Molly Murphy, who had the pleasure of sharing his life in love for the past 19 years and the privilege of holding him at the time of his passing. Mike was the son of F. Errol and Deana Davis; and has one brother, Fred Errol Davis III all of whom reside in Albuquerque. Additionally, he is survived by his four loving children, Michael Davis Jr., Debra Lynch (James) both of Albuquerque, and Morgan Davis and Rachel Blanco of Santa Fe, TX. Michael will also be missed by his aunt, Mary Coutts of Lazear, CO; uncle, Frank and aunt, Joann Durbin of Bentonville, AR; aunt, Joyce and uncle, Jerry Budzilowski of Tallahassee, FL; and several cousins in various states, as well as Molly's large family of which he was very much a part. Dudley -- Dr. James Nicholas"Nick" Dudley, 96, died suddenly Friday, May 23, 2003. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Virginia Baird Dudley. They met while Nick was health commissioner of Roanoke, Virginia. Nick and Virginia married on November 20, 1948, and continued to live in Roanoke until moving to Albuquerque in 1953. Nick was a longtime physician in the Albuquerque area in affiliation with Lovelace Clinic, the Veterans Administration, and other local area healthcare facilities. He actively practiced medicine until he was 88 years old. Nick and Virginia were active in three Albuquerque churches: Immanuel Presbyterian, First Presbyterian, and Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. They enjoyed traveling extensively-including several trips to Europe, numerous cruises, and domestic destinations (their favorite being San Francisco) - oftentimes to visit their children. Nick is survived by his four children and their families: James N. Dudley, Jr. and wife Tonimarie; Kemper Dudley of San Francisco, California; Lt. Col. Robert Dudley, (USAF retired) of Memphis, Tennessee; and Carol Boswell and husband Greg of Dayton, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ryan and Zachary Dudley of Albuquerque: Laura and Scott Dudley of Hampton, Virginia; and Lucas Boswell, of Dayton, Ohio. Gallegos -- Manuel A. Gallegos, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, May 26, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Gallegos; sons, Candido Gallegos and wife, Frances of Salt Lake City, UT and Robert V. Gallegos and wife, Cyndy of Albuquerque; daughter, Gloria E. Best of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Donald Gallegos and Anthony Gallegos, both of Salt Lake City, UT, Ronald V. Gallegos and Raymond V. Gallegos, both of Albuquerque and Aleta Best DaSilva, M.D. and husband, Robert of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Marvene Vigil of Oakdale, CA and Mabel Crane of Denver, CO; brother, David E. Gallegos, of Santa Fe; aunts and uncles, Margaret Romero and husband, Am, J.P. Gallegos and wife, Louisa, all of Denver, CO, Becky Ortega of Albuquerque, Estrella Ortega of Alamosa, CO and Ruth Ortega of Santa Fe; beloved cousins, Viola Hininger and Solema Newton; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mr. Gallegos was born in Center, Colorado, to Manuel and Lila Gallegos. He grew up in Capulin, CO. and Alamosa, CO. Mr. Gallegos graduated from Menaul High School in 1942. He volunteered for Navy duty and served aboard a Navy destroyer, USS Longshaw, and was in nine Naval battles. Mr. Gallegos survived the sinking of his ship in Okinawa. He was awarded the Purple Heat. Mr. Gallegos attended University of New Mexico under the GI Bill of Rights, and received a degree in Business Administration in 1950. He was employed with the IRS 20 years and retired in 1979 as Chief of the Review Staff. He started a Tax Consulting business in 1979 and retired after 23 years. He was a lifetime member of El Buen Samaritano Methodist Church. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Jesus Bermudez officiating. Jones -- Margaret Jones, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 62 years, died Monday, May 26, 2003. Latta -- Thomas Eugene Latta died in Vallecito, Colorado on May 24, 2003. Tom was born on September 8, 1929 in Whitedeer, Texas. He grew up in Delta, Colorado and graduated from Delta Highschool in 1946 as president of the Student Body. He attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and went on to earn degrees in Geology and Nuclear Physics from the University of New Mexico in 1965. He married Charlotte Ann Dent of Grand Junction in Montrose, Colorado. They recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. He was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite Freemasonry Santa Fe, NM. and an active member of Mesa Lodge number 68 A.F. and A.M. Albuquerque NM. and the Ballut Abyad Shrine in Albuquerque. Tom began his career in Grand Junction, CO with the Atomic Energy Commission where he was employed many years. He retired from his job as a nuclear physicist from Sandia Natl. Laboratories in 1993 after 32 years. Tom was highly regarded for his contributions in the scientific field. His main field of endeavor was with upper atmospheric experimentation, rocket science, and the StarWars program in Kauai, Hawaii. He will be remembered for his integrity and sense of duty. Tom and Sharley divided their time between homes in Vallecito, Colorado and Scottsdale, Arizona. Tom is survived by his wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Dana Buss and husband, Dale in Castle Rock, Colorado, Pamela Medley and husband, Noel Fortis of Albuquerque; one son, Mike Latta and wife, Niki of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and eight grandchildren, Doctors, Greg Medley and wife, Katherine of Del Mar, CA., Eugene Medley, Kimberley, Kyle and Katherine Buss, Ann Dee TulVern of Crestone CO. Ernestine Startup and husband, Merv of Tempe, AZ, Bea McGee, CA; and three other brothers, Jim Latta and wife, Chris of Eckert, CO., Bill Latta, wife, Roberta of Delta, CO, Larry Latta, Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, mining, and geology. He loved spending time with his family and friends. A Masonic Service will be conducted in Albuquerque, N. on May 29, 2003, at the Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple 6600 Zuni S.E., Albuquerque NM. Lind -- James Patterson Lind, 68, and a resident of Albuquerque since moving from Norfolk, VA in 1975, died on May 23, 2003 in Albuquerque. James was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Naval Fleet Reserve, and AARP. He was a Veteran, serving as a Master Chief for the U.S. Navy. James was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Artie Lind, David Lind, and Andrew Lind; and by his daughter, Diane Lind. He is survived by his wife, Rita; son, C.J. Lind of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Karen Lind Davis and husband, John of London Mills, IL and Pamela Dionisio and husband, Vito of Edgewood, NM; sister, Annamae Netopski of Ludlow, MA; brother, Marty Lind and wife, Jackie of Springfield, MA; and grandchildren, Carolyn Dionisio, Angelo Dionisio, Marcello Dionisio, Gabriella Dionisio, Virginia Davis and Johnny Davis. March -- John A. March, Jr. 5/31/39-5/18/2003 John A. March, Jr., born in Bozeman, MT, spent most of his life in Montana and New Mexico. Although he lived in many towns in Montana, his high school years were spent in Shelby, MT playing football, basketball, and other sports. He attended the University of Texas in Austin for a short time, then graduated with a degree in chemistry from the University of Montana. His post- graduate studies were at The American Graduate School of International Management Thunderbird, in Phoenix, AZ. While getting an education, he spent time with his parents in Peru, assisting his father, John Abe March, MD. Other jobs in his youth ranged from construction work, crop dusting and fire fighting. John began his business career selling heavy construction equipment in Colombia and Venezuela. On returning to the United States, he chose to reside in Montana where he began his real estate career. He formed and managed a real estate brokerage in Missoula. He received the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation in 1975. During the mid 1980's, John continued the work he loved, Commercial Real Estate, when he relocated to Albuquerque. The Commercial Real Estate & Development firm, West Wood Realty, was established in 1996 by John Black, Jim Haworth, and John A. March, where he continued his association until his death. John will be remembered for his warmth, his smile, his sense of fairness, and his kindness toward others. He is survived by his daughters, Tana and Barrie; his wife of fourteen years, Carol; step-son, Greg Noel and his wife Angela, step-son, George Naugles and his wife, Shelley, four step-grandchildren, Mallory, Madison, Zach and Gabe; brother-in-law, Gerald Shelton and his wife, Nancy, brother-in-law, Ronald Shelton and his wife, Rose Marie. He is also survived by many, many loving friends and business colleagues. Remembrance Services will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, May 29th, at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano Road NW, Albuquerque. Cremains will be present at the service. O'bannon -- Daniel Edward O'Bannon passed away May 24, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Regina of Albuquerque; and his son, Tim and wife, Mary of San Antonio, Texas; and two grandchildren, Alexander and Daniel, also of San Antonio. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Church and a native New Mexican. Prior to retirement, he was a mechanical engineer for the U.S. Air Force and was a recipient of many awards for his superior service. He was a very loving and devoted husband and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Romero -- Raymond R. Romero, 58, passed away at home surrounded by his family May 25, 2003. He retired from the City of Albuquerque, and worked at Park and Shuttle/Parking America for 13 years. Raymond is survived by his wife, Hope (Esperanza) D. Romero; children, Raymond Jr., Carla, Ruben, Randy, Emma Yvette, Vencent J., and Steven; grandchildren, Stephanie, Samantha, Sabrina, Mark, Matthew, Krystal, Alexandria, Ameri, Ariel, Melanie, Jacqueline, and Anna; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at San Jose Parish, 2401 Broadway SE., with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2003. Salazar -- Viola Antonette Salazar, age 24, a resident of Raton, NM passed away May 25, 2003. She was born February 20, 1979. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Arthur Salazar. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Anya; mother, Adelia Salazar of Raton,; father, Tony Garcia of Florence AZ; brother, Bobby Salazar of Raton; sisters, Jesseka Salazar of Albuquerque and Laura Martinez of Denver, CO.; aunts, Lupe, Charlene and family, Roberta and family, Benita and family all of Albuquerque and aunt, Theresa and family of San Antonio, TX.; cousins, Robert and family, Bella and family, Crystal and family. She is also survived by numerous great-aunts, uncles and cousins. Viola will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Cremation will take place on Wednesday and a Memorial Service will take place at a later.

Tapia -- Nestor C. Tapia, retired Albuquerque Firefighter, passed away peacefully Friday May 23, 2003 with his children at his side. He was 65 years old and a lifelong Albuquerque resident. He also served in the United States Navy. Nestor was preceded in death by his father Nestor S. Tapia; his mother, Estella Tapia; his sisters, Susie Barreras and Isabel Baca. Nestor is survived by his son, Charles N. Tapia and wife, Denise; daughter, Shelly Tapia; and their mother, Poncianita Tapia; his four grandchildren, Jeremy, Amaris, Denesha and Jason Tapia; his brother, Augustine Tapia; sister, Eva Casias and husband, Raymond; sister, Elenor Barreras and husband, Phillip, and many nieces and nephews and other family and friends who loved and will truly miss him. Nestor was a heart transplant recipient of 15 years and we would like to thank the donor family and everyone involved for giving the gift of life and letting us have 15 extra special years with our Dad. Services will he held at San Martin Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 7:00 p.m.. by Edward and Rosie Andrade. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 30, 2003 AT 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
