Archuleta -- Eleanor Archuleta passed on to the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2003. She was born on April 11, 1906 near Las Vegas, New Mexico and moved to Albuquerque in the late 1950's. She never married and although she had no children of her own, she devoted her life to caring and loving all of her nieces and nephews. Her gifts were many. She worked during World War II as a welder at the shipyards in California. Her work was considered to be among the best. She worked many years as a nursing assistant at the then Bernalillo County Medical Center. When she retired she continued to care and board many elderly and ill patients in her home. She loved and raised Schnauzers until she could no longer keep them.
