Aragon -- Max Aragon Jr. died Monday July 8, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 49. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He is preceded in death by his son, Maxie A. Aragon the III; also by his mother, Angie Aragon. He is survived by his father, Max Aragon Sr. his wife, Dorothy Gutierrez; three children, Frances, Ray, and April; and five grandchildren, Nathan, Bengie, Maxie IIII, Maria and also Ernesto; six sisters, Helen Chavez and husband, Joe, Landa Lopez and husband, Emilio, Lorraine Nieto and husband, Steve, Jane Telles and Joe Chavez, Juanita Aragon and Jesus Perez; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at San Jose Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Chavez, Michael Chavez, Gilbert Gutierrez, Mike Baca Jr. Henry Martinez,Chris Gutierrez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Gutierrez, and Tommy Chavez. Biffle -- Wilson M. Biffle, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Biffle of Albuquerque; daughter, Sharon Strizich and husband, Sam of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Jerry Biffle of Albuquerque; and granddaughter, Kristan Hardin and husband, Kevin of Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Biffle was preceded in death by his son, Marvin Biffle. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Cawlfield -- Nedra Cynthia Cawlfield passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2002 in Dallas, TX. She was born to Bertha Leota and Roy Robert Bartholomew in Cheraw, CO on April 26, 1912. She was a resident of Albuquerque, NM for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee of nearly 60 years who passed away in 1991; her parents; her sister, Josephine; and her brother, Fred. Nedra is survived by her son, John Cawlfield of Albuquerque; and her daughter and son-in-law, Janet Sue and Donnelly Johnson of Richardson, TX; grandchildren, Donnelly (Jim) Johnson, Jr., John Leslie Johnson, Robert Lee Johnson, Cynthia Johnson Gallatin and Bruce Cawlfield; and nine great-grandchildren. Nedra was a precious, loving wife and mother. She assisted Lee with their appliance business in Albuquerque for many years. The Cawlfield's were active members of Monte Vista Christian Church and served in many capacities. Nedra loved to sew, trout fish, garden and play bridge. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque on July 12, 2002.

Daugherty -- Ralph Wright Daugherty, by the great mercy of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, died peacefully in his sleep on July 6, 2002. Born in Hope, NM on February 17, 1922, Ralph was a lifelong resident of New Mexico, the son of Samuel Hansford Daugherty and Dona Ana Wright Daugherty, of Carlsbad, NM. He served his country in the United States Navy during W.W.II aboard the USS Pasadena. Returning from the war, he graduated from NM State University and served as a county agricultural extension agent in Curry, Chaves, Bernalillo and Torrance Counties until he retired to Roswell in 1975. He was husband to Bobbie Sue Pledger of Carlsbad from 1946 until her death in 1984. On July 5, 1991 he married Wanda Joyce Case of Roswell, who survives him. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Daugherty and wife, Sissy of Carlsbad, and sister, Irene Morecraft of Houston, daughter, Kathryn J. Widger and husband, Ken of Edgewood, NM, and four sons, M. Steven Daugherty and wife, Rebecca of Atascadero, CA, J. Craig Daugherty of Edgewood, NM, Samuel W. Daugherty and wife, Leslie of League City, TX and Billy Wayne Case and wife, Julie, of Albuquerque, and seven grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home, 2609 S. Main, Roswell, NM. A reception will follow at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 928 W. McGaffey.

Diana -- Rose Marie Diana, 89, a resident of Rio Rancho for over 22 years, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2002. Rose was born December 30, 1912 the daughter of Celestino and Helena Valdez in Ensenada, New Mexico. She had been a cook for the public schools before retiring. Rose was a member of the Auxiliary for the Felician Convent, member of the Alter Rosary Society of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Meadowlark Senior Citizen's Center where she participated with the Meadowlark Singers and taught Pinochle. She was also a member of the Italian-American Club. Rose was preceded in death by one son, Steven Gary Willey in 1986; one sister, Eliza; and one brother, Celestino. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Diana of Rio Rancho; children, Mary Lou Nichols of White Lake, MI, and James Stanley Willey of Duluth, MN; one sister, Adalaide Baca of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Brenda and Michael Dunne, Mark Dunne and wife, Sherry, Lisa Sullivan, Kellie Crothers and husband, Shane, Steven Willey and wife, Marnie, Randy and Amanda Willey, and James Willey, Jr.; 11 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Denise Seaman. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. this evening, Thursday, July 11, 2002 in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Fjelseth -- Alma C. Fjelseth, 97, a resident of Albuquerque for over 40 years, died July 5, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Paul A. Fjelseth and his wife, Irene of Albuquerque, Donald E. Fjelseth, of Albuquerque, and Lewis A. Foster -- Linda J. Foster, 54, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, July 7, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Foster Francis of Denver, CO and fianceé, Jim Morgan of Seattle, WA; son, Benjamin M. Foster and fiancé, Karen Thress, both of Las Cruces, NM; daughter, Sarah H. Foster of Albuquerque; grandchild, Joshua B. Francis of Denver, CO; father, Lawrence E. Kennedy of Houston, TX; sister, Debra Kennedy of Castle Rock, CO; brothers, Mike Kennedy of Fort Worth, TX and Marc Kennedy of Houston, TX; and ex-husband, Jeffery Foster of Albuquerque. Most recently, she was president and qualifying broker of Prudential Southwest Realty. Linda was well respected in the real estate community, which was shown by her being chosen as Realtor of the Year at both the state and local levels in 2001. She had a tremendous amount of respect and appreciation for her associates in the real estate community and the people of Albuquerque. Her most important role was being a mother to her children whom she loved dearly. Being a grandmother brought her tremendous joy and pride. She was a wonderful friend, sister and daughter. She could always be trusted and depended on. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Glennon -- Paul Dennis (Sam) Glennon, age 84 from Lakewood, Colorado, died Sunday, July 7, 2002 at Cedars Health Care Center, Lakewood, Colorado. Paul was born on Independence Day, July 4, 1918 in Fairbury, Illinois to the late James M. Sr. and Bridget (Somers) Glennon. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Jr. and Philip M. Glennon. He is survived by two loving daughters, Paula J. Feiner and her husband, Stuart, Littleton, CO, Michelle A. Richardson, Kansas City, MO; one sister, Mary Frances Rigsby, Fairbury, Illinois; one brother, Thomas Glennon, Chatsworth, Illinois; three grandchildren, Shannon M. Greene, Rogers, AK, Christina M. Arduser, Walker, MO, Jerry J. Shinn, California; two great-grandchildren, Colby and Chloe Arduser and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was a high school graduate and attended college in Chillicothe, MO. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II and the Korean War. Paul leaves this world with us knowing he is in our hearts and watching over us. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Gonzales -- Mrs. Carmen C. Gonzales, 83, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 10, 2002. Mrs. Gonzales is the beloved wife of 60 years to Mr. Marvin Gonzales. Mrs. Gonzales is also survived by her two daughters, Carmen J. Pennington and husband, Carl R. Sr., Marlene C. Martinez and husband, Raymond P.; one brother, Armando Cordoba and wife, Antonia; a sister-in-law, Rose Cordova; seven grandchildren, Carlton, Carmen, Jacqueline, Patrick, Marlo, Ramoncito and Joseph; ten great grandchildren, Aaron, Samantha, Robert, Nicole, Matthew, Garrett, Alexandra, Gabriella, Kylie and Dominic; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Gonzales was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Johnson -- Raymond H. Johnson. On Saturday, July 13, 2002, a Memorial will be held for Raymond H. Johnson of Chicago, IL. Raymond was a longtime resident of Wonder Lake, IL, and retired in Albuquerque, NM. He passed February 8, 2002 of natural causes while he was staying at the VA Nursing Unit in Philadelphia. He was 84 years old. Raymond was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for bravery he exhibited while a Pharmacist Mate in the Navy during WWII. In that capacity, he fought valiantly for our country with the IV division of the Marines in the invasions of Namur, Sai Pan and Tinian, as well as the action against Iwo Jima. Raymond is survived by Nephews, Arthur and Robert Johnson. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the grave site of Ringwood Cemetery, in Ringwood, IL. Lujan -- Abenico"Benny" Lujan, 58, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2002. He was born on May 17, 1944. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lujan, son's, Fermin Lujan and wife, Diane D. and Richard E. Lujan; daughter's, Diane M. Lujan and fiancé, Chris Lopez and Ramona E. Saavedra and husband, Wayne; brother, Luis Zamora and wife, Corina; step-brother, Tony Morrison; sisters, Dolores Gallegos and Rose Chavez; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Lujan will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Masolo -- Pamela Michele Masolo, age 37, of Townsend, MT passed away July 9, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. Pam was born July 28, 1964 to Leandro (Lando) and Beatrice C. De Baca in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended grade school and high school in Bernalillo, New Mexico graduating from Cibola High School in Albuquerque. She was active in science fairs, Math clubs, cross-country, track and field and Honor Assembly. She worked her way through the University of New Mexico by establishing her business Pam's Cleaning Service. She pursued her degree in mechanical engineering and continued her own business until she moved to Townsend. Pam married David Masolo on October 17, 1992 in Bernalillo, NM. They shared many loves and same interests. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2002. They moved to Townsend in 1998, where Pam was employed by the U. S. Forest Service. Pam was a very devoted mother to their three year old son Leandro, whom she adored and cared for so lovingly. She loved to watch his accomplishments. Pam will be remembered for many things. She was always willing to help those in need. Her love for trucks and various work on engines was often shared with her brother. She loved her animals, especially her horse"Lennie/Arnie". She looked forward to another summer participating in the Roundup Roping and equestrian events. She loved to have company. Her knack for southwest cooking, served with love was enjoyed by many friends and relatives and will always be remembered. She is survived by her son, Leandro Robert Masolo; sister, Elizabeth and husband, Martin Molina of Rio Rancho, NM; brother, Paul C. De Baca of Bernalillo, MT; in-laws, Bob and Gay Ann Masolo of Townsend; nieces and nephews Danielle C. De Baca, Anika, Jacob and Jonah Molina; special aunt, Mary Pat Sullivan of Townsend; cousins and many special caring friends. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Mauldin -- Dane Kris Mauldin, 44, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, July 7, 2002. He is survived by his mother, Nan Mauldin of Albuquerque; sister, Kim Hahn and husband, Larry of Albuquerque; special cousin and friend, James Emmert and wife, Jeanette of Amarillo, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Mauldin, May 22, 2001 and his sister, Kay Carter, January 7, 2002. Kris graduated from Eldorado High School. He was employed by Southwest Airlines since 1993 as a sales supervisor. He loved his job and all the people he worked with. He was a beloved son, brother, coworker, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Friday, July 12, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Mcclure -- Eleanor E. McClure of Los Lunas, entered without her walker, into God's Holy Gardens on July 9, 2002. Eleanor's life was based on her faith and love of Jesus Christ"Love one another, as I have loved you" was her motto. The daughter of John and Edna Nelson, she was born on March 20, 1919 in Iowa. The family moved to South Dakota where she spent her childhood with sibling, Wilmer and Marjean. After graduating from Woonsocket High School she attended Methodist Nursing School in Mitchell, SD. Her registered nurse career led her into the US Navy during WWII. Marrying and settling down in Indiana she raised her two children, Patty and Mike. In 1967 she moved to Crownpoint, NM where she worked with Indian Services. In 1985 she retired and moved to her acre of land in Meadowlake. She worked at the Training School in Los Lunas for ten years. She was a member of the Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church and very active in her church. She was honored to be a member of the channel and handbell choirs along with United Methodist Women's program. She held local District and Sub District in UMW. She served chairperson of the PMUMC's Outreach Mission Ministry until this past year. As a Past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem #1 in Albuquerque she still was active with the lodge. She was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and the New Mexico Nurse Associations. Eleanor had traveled extensively through out the mainland United States and Hawaii. She made a trip to the Holy Lands in 1995. Gardening, crafts and sewing were her hobbies and she all had many projects in process. Eleanor was a very positive influence wherever she lived and worked. Surviving family members include her son, John Mike McClure and wife, Beth Ann and their son, James and wife, Emily and daughters, Taelor and Molly, all of Indiana and her daughter, Patricia J. Carter and husband, Don of Los Lunas, and Patty's children and grandchildren, Patrick D. Good and wife, Kelley, Tasha and Logan Good, all of Portland, OR, Melissa J. Hardy and husband, James, Joshua and Jacob Hardy, all of Indiana; her sister, Marjean Viskna; and eight nieces and nephews of South Dakota. Also missing her at home is her faithful dog, Boots. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service in loving remembrance and to celebrate Eleanor's life will be held Saturday, July 13, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at the Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church, 25 Wesley Road, with Rev. Norton Scrimshire officiating. Montano -- Eric Montano was born January 22, 1978, and passed away Monday, July 8, 2002 in Albuquerque. Eric worked as a laborer and plasterer. Moya -- Viviana Moya, born on August 27, 1927 to Manuel and Natividad Moya, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She worked for the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School retiring in 1986. Her children and her grandchildren were her life. Preceding her in death were her parents, Manuel Moya and Natividad Maldonado Moya; her brothers, Andalecio and Juanito Moya; her sister, Agapita Romero; and her former spouse, Lorenzo Silva. Viviana is survived by her five daughters and one son, Felicitas Coates, Ernestina Silva, Elenor Montoya, Theresa Rodriguez; Gloria Molina and her husband, Faustino, Rumaldo Silva and his wife, Ramona; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her former spouse, Arturo Moya; her sister, Augustina Padilla and her husband, Tranquilino; her sister-in-law, Mary Moya; and one very special friend, Bernie Baca. She is also survived by her many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Zeke is the beloved husband of 15 years to Patricia (Trish) Sedillo; four beautiful daughters, Lenee Baker, Amanda (Maria), Amy and Arielle; one granddaughter, Madealynn, all of whom made him very happy and proud. He is also survived by his loving mother, Barbara of Albuquerque; two brothers, Barney of Albuquerque, Daniel and wife, Rosemarie Sedillo of Bloomfield, N.M.; three sisters, Edwina Martinez and husband, Fernie of Albuquerque, Lucy Ann Stalee and husband, David of Fort Worth, TX., Becky Larkin and husband, David of Grand Junction, Co.; Zeke also leaves behind Granny, who lived with them and Lanee's grandma, Lilith Baker; many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who also suffer by his loss. Zeke was preceded in death by his father, Gillie and a brother, Gilbert Jr. Zeke lived in the Albuquerque-Los Lunas area for the past eight years and was employed by Lovelace Health Services. His special pride and joy was spending time coaching his daughters in softball and other sports. He was well known for his outstanding girls softball coaching skills and was well loved and respected by his girls, their parents, coaches and officials of the softball leagues, especially the Chile Peppers, the very promising Pride Allstar Team. Zeke's generosity and helpfulness knew of no boundaries as is evidenced by his many many softball friends and his close high school buddies. He will be missed dearly by family, friends and acquaintances. He was respected by all that met him. His laughter behind the barbecue grill was contagious and will be missed. We know he will continue coaching us from Heaven and will have the grill waiting for everyone when our time comes. Zeke was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, New Mexico with a Rosary to be recited at 11:00 a.m. by Juan Sandoval. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, by Father Jose Hernandez. Private Disposition will take place. Pallbearers will be, Charles Lundstom, Billy Mc Clung, J.T. Michael, Art Lucero, Fernie Martinez Jr., Michael Blea, Fernie Martinez Sr. and Alex Dominquez. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Los Lunas Heat softball team, the Los Lunas Chile Peppers and the Los Lunas Major Pride Allstars softball team. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. Sheets -- Robert L. Sheets, born in New Mexico September 2, 1933, passed away at home July 8, 2002. Robert was a lifelong pump installation and well drilling contractor in New Mexico. He is survived by many loving relatives and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at St Therese Catholic Church located at 4th and Mildred NW. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 11, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the Mass in the church parish hall. Silva -- Louis Silva one of God's special persons," a working man", left us on Monday, July 8, 2002. Louis Silva was born on May 22, 1918 in Carthage, NM to Victor and Rosalia Silva. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Pedro, Felipe, Juan; and sister, Lorey Saavedra. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Isabel Richardson Silva; his children and spouses, Paul and Rita, Glorianne and Phillip Martinez, Louie and Sandy, Frank, Teri and Bill Thompson; and sister, Dalida Vivian. His grandsons will serve as Pallbearers, David Charles, Paul Silva, Jeremy Silva, Craig Silva, Phillip Martinez II, and Godson, John J. Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Carin Garcia, Diana Rivera, Lisa Wallace, Jennifer Bayer, Danielle Silva, Celina and Mallorie Silva. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Nicole, Gabriel, Briana, Keelyanne, Jennifer, Taylor, Lauren, Isabella, Erica, Michael, Kelsey and Tyrus. Mr. Silva worked for Santa Fe Trials Transportation for 35 years and was a member of the Teamsters Local 492. His life's passion included politics and baseball. He was a proud lifelong Democrat. Viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2002 at Fitzgerald & Son, 3113 Carlisle NE. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary following the Mass.

Strahl -- Dr. Maurice Strahl, died of a heart attack July 9, 2002. He was 90. He was born January 12, 1912, in Jaroslav, Poland. Although he lost nearly all of his family and spent six years in Nazi concentration camps before moving to Boston with his wife, two daughters and son, he never lost faith in humanity. He ran a successful dental practice before following his children to Albuquerque, New Mexico in the late 70's. A painter, sculptor, pianist and"the last true gentleman," Maurice had an overwhelming sense of pride and unconditional love for his family and extended family. He loved to celebrate life. He spent every minute he could with his wife Julia, three children, Janette, Joanne and Roger, his five grandchildren, Marisa, Cedra, Ariel, Alexi and Tolya and his two great-grandsons, Avery and Ethan. As he said often,"That's all what I got!" Services to be held at Congregation Albert at 3800 Louisiana NE on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.

Trimble -- Rowena Frances Trimble was born in Kirkville, MO, the first child of Floene and Thomas Quinn. Her father's newspaper profession took them to different parts of the country, settling in IA. Trimble later met and married Donald Dean Trimble. During WWII her husband became a career Air Force Officer, more traveling including time in England and Morocco. Wherever they lived, she created a home. She was a talented artist, a creative seamstress and an avid gardener. Mrs. Trimble was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and is survived by their son, Thomas Trimble, and grandson, Taylor Trimble, both of Madison, WI, as well as a brother, Thomas Quinn of North Carolina and two nieces, residents of New Jersey. Upshaw -- Faith Joy Upshaw, was born March 27, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. Faith passed away July 8, 2002. Loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with Lord Monday, after battling a life long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Eleanor Heidel of Downers Grove, Illinois. Faith is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gene Upshaw; sister, Dolores Hetzler of Emlinton, Pa.; son, Sean Collins and wife, Cindy; daughter, Hope Jennifer and husband, Kelly Glover; granddaughters, Kelsie Mae and Kaylee Faith Glover of Los Chavez, NM; step-granddaughter, Jessica Urioste; three great-grandchildren, Mark, Sonrisa, and Sean Ray of Las Vegas, NM; numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing and services will be held at Gospel Light Baptist Church, on Thursday, July 11, 2002, where Faith delighted in spending many hours volunteering her services of cooking, or whatever was the Lord's will. The church is located at 1500 Southern Blvd., Rio Rancho. Viewing and visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sean Collins, Kelly Glover, Daryl Upshaw, Jeremy Lenentine, Todd Hathorne and Rick Pope. Faith was a blessing and encouragement to us all, and she will be missed very much. Van Hart -- Van Melvin Walker Van Hart, 91, died Saturday, July 6, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Anne; son, Dirk, and wife, Rusty, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Cordell Van Hart of CO and Sandor Van Hart of Albuquerque. Mr. Van Hart married Anne Elizabeth Felon in Elizabeth, NJ on November 12, 1934. He moved from NJ to Albuquerque in 1995. Cremation has taken place.
