Bell -- Viola G. Bell, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1928, died Friday, July 5, 2002. She is survived by her nieces, Sue Clance of Seal Beach, CA, Pat Boyd and husband, John of Albuquerque, Jean Payne and husband, Joel of Mensa, AK; nephew, Roy Edward Williams of Chicago, IL; three great-nephews; and three great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren E. Bell. Mrs. Bell was a member of and very involved with Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She worked for many years at Valley High School and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Services will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE., with Revs Joyce and Chris Lieberman officiating. Reception will follow at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd SE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Monday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Dark -- Michael Francis Dark, age 37, passed away on July 4, 2002 due to complications from juvenile-onset Diabetes Mellitus. He had lived in Albuquerque since 1978 after moving with his family from England. He worked as a mechanic at Flash Automotive for many years and enjoyed drag-bike racing. He is survived by his son, Ryan and his mother, Trish; his parents, John E. Dark, Sr. and Gillian Dark; and his brother, John E. Dark, Jr. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002 at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Duran -- In your sleep quietly today, The Lord and your son, Dominic came to take you home.Ernest Anthony Duran, Sr., 51, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 4, 2002."Tony" was born in Vaughn, NM on November 14, 1950. He was preceded in death by his son, Dominic Elizah Duran and his two brothers, Benny and Domingo"Larry" Duran. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara Duran; sons, Ernest Anthony Duran, Jr., Gabriel Paul Duran and Nicholas Jordan Duran; his daughters, Elizabeth Marie Duran, Michele Lee Duran and Crystal Rose Duran; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Ariana, Antoinette, Jaden, Elijah, Sierra, and Baby Dominic. He is also survived by his father, Hilario Duran; mother, Dora Duran, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Flora Arvan of Arizona; two sisters, Helen Chavez and Gloria Whorlin; and many other relatives and friends. Tony was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was also a proud Vietnam veteran who lived his life with pride and dignity. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2002 followed at 7:00 p.m. by a Prayer Service in Chapel of Sandia, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2002 in Chapel of Sandia followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Hall-Warschauer -- Hall- Randy Luke Hall-Warschauer, age 29, and a life long resident of New Mexico died Saturday July 6, 2002 at 6:10 a.m. in Lovelace Hospital following a battle with brain cancer. Randy is survived by his parents, Ralph Morris and Easter Mae Warschauer of NM, his grandparents, Carley Stump of NM, and Martha Hall of IN; four sisters, Patrica Sanchez of IN, Jill Warschauer of NM, Denise Laughery of CA, and Susan Pisano of NY; two brothers, Roger Hall and his wife, Sue, and Rodney Hall and his wife, Carla all of NM. Randy was preceded in death by one brother Carl in 1994. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belen. He also served in the US Navy and the Naval Reserve, and had been employed by the US Postal Service. Viewing and visitation will be held Monday July 8, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne with Brother Fred Gillard officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park with Sammy Cordova, Harry Joe Davis, Jesse Zamora, Charles Stump, Rick Stump, and Guy Stump serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Dennis Strain and Anthony Lovato. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Randy's name to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87110. Rantanen -- Leo Edward Rantanen, beloved husband, father, son, and brother passed away suddenly on July 4, 2002 due to an unfortunate accident participating in a sport he loved. He was 39 years old and leaves behind a loving wife of 9 1/2 years, Laurie Rantanen; four children, Tanya, age 16, Nathan, age 16, Travis, age 14, and Jourdan, age 8; his mother-in-law, Jacquelyn; his mother, Yukie; his father, Donald; a sister, Tina; and a brother, Lloyd and wife, Shari and two sons, Kyle and Cody. Also left behind was his extended BMX family and many, many loving friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002 at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Chapel of Sandia. Richardson -- J. W."Bill" Richardson, 77, died Sunday, June 30, 2002. Bill was born in Memphis, TN on September 29, 1924. He graduated from high school in Little Rock, AR and served in WWII in the Navy as a tail gunner on PBY. Bill attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and moved to Albuquerque in 1963. He was a member of the Ducks Unlimited Albuquerque Chapter and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bill served as an Election Judge in Albuquerque for many years and was a longtime local businessman. Bill is survived by his step-daughter, Melanie Palmer and husband, George Murphy of Austin, TX; son, James Francis and wife, Sherri, of Dallas, TX; and several grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, July 8, 2002, at 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. N.E, with Pastor Sebastian Frappier officiating. Sale -- Janet L. Sale, 44, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died on Friday, July 5, 2002 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Janet is survived by her loving husband, William M. Resnik; mother, Constance Bonneau Sale of Sacramento, CA; sister, Karen L. Sale and husband, Mark David, of Ipswich, MA; aunt, Leona Dickey and husband, Don; uncle, Richard Bonneau and wife, Michaela; niece, Charlotte David; mother in law, Dolores Frazier, of Albuquerque; father in law, William Resnik, Sr., of Salem, OR; brothers in law, Richard Resnik and wife, Glenna of Flower Mound, TX and Marshall Resnik and wife, Jackie, of Atlanta, GA. Janet was an avid skier and former member of the Sandia Peak Ski Patrol. She had served as President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque. She was a Vice President and stock broker at Morgan Stanley. Janet was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Ave. SE, with a reception to follow at the church. Sanchez -- Benjie Sanchez, 38, a resident of Albuquerque died July 3, 2002 peacefully at home. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; three daughters, Sylvia, Erika, Sharda; one grandson, baby Brian; his parents, Manuel and Lorraine; his in-laws, Elias and Barbara; two brothers, Manuel and Daniel; one sister, Pebbles; and many aunts, uncles, friends. Strasburg -- Edna M. Strasburg, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Friday, July 5, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Arnold C. Strasburg of Albuquerque; daughter, Rebecca Ann Blackstone and husband, Stanley of Del Rio, TX. Edna was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a life member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Auxiliary and Lovelace Medical Foundation Auxiliary. Edna was an active volunteer at Lovelace Medical Center from 1961 to 1999. Services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2002, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Walker Shaw -- Walker- Sally Ann Walker Shaw, 57, passed away peacefully at her home in Bosque Farms on Friday, July 5th 2002. She was born in New Jersey on October 2, 1944 and moved to New Mexico in the early 1970's making Bosque Farms her home. Sally had a zest for life and loved animals, gardening, beadwork, and many other hobbies. She has touched the lives and hearts of many and will be dearly missed and forever loved and remembered. She is survived by her husband, Monty Shaw; two daughters, Margaret Snyder of Ocala, Fl., and Lisa Stephens of Albuquerque; two brothers, John Wilson and wife, Marie, Anthony (Don) Radziercz and wife, Sheree; five grandchildren, Stephanie Clark, Anthony Michael Stephens, Shannon, Melissa and Tiffany Snyder; three step-children, Jeremy , Danna, Tracey Shaw; two nieces, Nicole and Laura Wilson; and one nephew, Anthony (Buddy ) Radziercz; and many friends. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 9th 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Bosque Farms"Church of Christ" on Bosque Farms Blvd. Cremation following services.
