Baker -- Elma Norene McFarland Baker, 87 went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2002 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Baker, a native of New Mexico, born in Roswell, New Mexico on February 25, 1915 to Dan and Vina McFarland was raised on the Block Ranch. Elma retired from the Visiting Nursing Service in 1977. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Los Alamos Chapter, and a member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Mrs Baker was a resident of Three Fountains Apartment for three years. She is preceded in death by her husband Luther Vernon Baker in 1961; two brothers J.D. McFarland of Carlsbad, New Mexico and William McFarland of Tennessee. She is survived by her three children, son, Gary Dean Baker and wife, Patsy, of Thornton, Colorado; daughter, Dinah Jean Robinson and husband, Frank, of Albuquerque; son, John Caleb Baker, and wife, Barbara of Albuquerque; sister, Mozelle Edgar and husband, Donald, of Tennessee; David McFarland and wife, Jesse, of Roswell; sister, Lena Mae Hobbs, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Barbara Ann Rappenecker and husband, Steve, of Colorado, Rebecca McElyea and husband, Tim, of North Carolina; Deborah Dean Baker of North Carolina; Tammy Halliburton and husband Donn of Albuquerque; Erick Robinson and Joy Robinson both of Albuquerque; step-grandchildren, Karen Gonzalez and husband, John and Kelly Parrish all of Albuquerque; great Grandchildren, Nathan, Danielle, Nicholas, Mikayah, Bethany, Brittany, Jacob Halliburton all of Albuquerque, Lensey McElyea of North Carolina; two step great grandchildren; John Austin and Julia Anne Gonzalez of Albuquerque; numerous nieces and nephews. Bamforth -- John"Bammer" Bamforth Jr., 41, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, May 12, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bamforth of Albuquerque; sons, John Bamforth III of Portales, Scott Bamforth and Bryan Faifer, both of Albuquerque; parents, John Sr. and Ann Bamforth of Georgetown, DE; brother, Tim Bamforth and wife, Monique of Rehoboth Beach, DE and nephews, Ben and Jake; brother, Chris Bamforth; and sister, Heather Bamforth, both of Georgetown, DE. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy. Mr. Bamforth loved playing softball and basketball with his friends. He also enjoyed hosting tailgate parties, pool parties and backyard barbecues. Carle -- Louise B. Carle, 68, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 20 years, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2002. Louise was born June 18, 1933 the daughter of Antonio V. and Regina Gorganelli Battaglia in Waterbury, Connecticut. Louise was a registered nurse in the hospital healcare industry until her retirement. She came to New Mexico form Englewood, New Jersey. She volunteered with Acantilado Vista by helping organize a Bible study. Louise was a member of the Grace Outreach Center Church. She was a devoted Christian, wife, and mother. Louise is survived by her husband, Robert B. Carle of the family home; four children, Matthew Carle, Karen Leyba and husband Tom, Brenda Jones and husband Thomas, and Brian Carle, all of Rio Rancho; three sisters, Dora Lescarda of Watertown,CT, Lucy Gardner of Wolcott, CT, Rosemary LaMay of Waterbury, CT; and one brother, Billy Battaglia of Waterbury, CT. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Grace Outreach Church, 2900 Southern Blvd, Rio Rancho, with the Service on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace Outreach Church with Pastor Kent Barnard officiating. Cooke -- Joyce Cooke. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. John's United Methodist Church of Santa Fe on Wednesday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m.. Joyce passed away in Georgia on May 6, 2002 from cancer. She was a member of the Santa Fe community for eight years. She is survivied by her son, Michael; granddaughters, Amanda and Alecia; and her grandson, Adam. Her family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local food bank or homeless shelter.

Crowder -- Sylvia Crowder, 77, who first moved to Albuquerque in 1932, died on Sunday, May 12, 2002. She suffered with emphysema but passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side. She is survived by her daughter, Carolie Jornigan; son, Gerald W. Crowder and wife, Kathryn; grandchildren, Wendy Deluca, Matthew Crowder, Nathan Crowder and his wife, Brandy, all of Albuquerque; sister, Jane Echohawk; brother, Dorsey Conrad and wife, Jeanetta; numerous nieces, nephews; and many friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Conrad; her brother, David; and her husband of 52 years, Kenneth. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her skills as a cook, homemaker, and seamstress were unsurpassed and a joy to her husband and family. She and her husband, traveled extensively on his work assignments across the U.S. and in South America. The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Comunas, his nurse Monica, and Presbyterian Hospice for their great tenderness and care. Greenidge -- Marjorie P. Greenidge, 91, a 15-year resident of Albuquerque, was called home to the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2002 after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her son, Al Cochrane and wife, Barbara of Albuquerque; grandsons, Alan R. Cochrane and wife, Arlene of Union City, CA, Albert B. Cochrane of Sacramento, CA; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and many friends who will miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Greenidge and daughter, Yvonne H.J. Paskins. Maez -- Anita Maez, born December 28, 1905 died May 12, 2002 at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Florenio. She is survived by her eight children, Celilio, Dolores, Joe, Dominique (Duby), Frances, Edward, Robert, Daniel and their spouses; and 100 grand and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Anita had a genuine faith in the Bible's promise of the resurrection into a paradise earth where she will be reunited with her family and friends. Acts 5:28,29 and Psalms 37:10,11,29. Moku -- Sgt Major Richard K. M. Moku, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964,died peacefully at home on May 9, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Madeleine B. Moku. He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Moku of Boulder CO, Marilyn Kunde of Albuquerque, and Madeleine R. Moku of Albuquerque; son Richard K. Moku Jr., and wife Nadine of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Thomas Duane, Holly Duane, Tashi Duane, Sean Kloppenburg, Amanda Moku, Jaclyn Moku, Gavin Moku, and Gary Moku; and sister Eva Lum. Richard was born in south Kona on the island of Hawaii on June 30, 1921. His childhood years were spent on his family's land at a small coral beach on the west coast of Hawaii. On the hills above this cove, they grew coffee. Ocean swimming, diving, and spear fishing were natural skills for him. After his parents' deaths, Richard moved to the island of Maui, where he was adopted by his aunt and uncle, both revered ministers of the Congregational Church. A desire to see the world prompted him to join the U.S. Army after high school graduation. He was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, where he met his future wife, Madeleine B. Hustinx, A Belgian citizen. His distinguished military career of nearly 30 years, with additional years in the Army Reserve, included serving in the Korean conflict and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He achieved the highest rank of a non-commissioned officer, that of Sergeant Major. After retirement from military service, Mr Moku began a 2nd career as a dental lab technician, which lasted over 20 years. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, at French Mortuary Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Orona -- Juan Orona, 97, a resident of El Cerro, NM peacefully joined our Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2002 surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, NM. He retired from AT&SF Railroad in 1970 but Juan continued farming and ranching until the age of 94. Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Modesta in 2000; two granddaughters, Theresa Romero and Carol Armendariz; two great-grandsons, Jessie Romero and Joseph Orona; and his son-in-law, Juan Romero. Juan is survived by his six loving children, Willie of Los Lunas, Valentine and his wife, Mary of Lompoc, CA, Lillian Romero of Tome, NM, Oswald and his wife, Ruth of Las Nutrias, NM; Patricia Montes and her husband, Ralph of Los Lunas, NM; and Dorothy Godley and her husband, John of Springfield, VA; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Melinde Orona of Adelino, NM. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Roach -- Linda Sue Roach, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, May 11, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Monty H. Serna -- Lilia Arias Serna, born April 16, 1929 in Brownsville, Texas and a resident of Albuquerque for the last 50 years, went home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2002. She was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Community. Lilia was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Raymond; and her daughter, Mary Ann. Lilia is survived by four sons, Raymond, Reynold and wife, Sandra, Rodrigo, Robert and wife, Linda; two daughters, Ruth, Georgina Pacheco and husband, Tony; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Celia Cable and husband, Gary; one brother, George Arias. He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Laverne Hitchcock of Los Lunas; paternal grandparents, Antonio and Vivian Trujillo of Hagerman, NM; parents, Tony and Jeannine Trujillo; sister, Windy Stringham and husband, Lance; brother, Antonio Trujillo and wife, Jennifer; nieces, Janessa and Delila Trujillo; nephew, Antonio Trujillo, all of Los Lunas; and a large extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Trujillo. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at San Clemente Church, 244 Luna St., Los Lunas, NM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10:00, at San Clemente Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Vanderford -- John Philip Vanderford, age 35, died May 8, 2002. He is survived by his former wife and friend, Chris Vanderford of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Victoria Phillips of Colorado Springs, CO; ton, Tyler Alexander of TX; brother, William Chambers of Clovis, NM; mother, Lucille Vanderford of Bernalillo, NM; sisters, Sophia and husband, Ramon Sandoval of Bernalillo, NM, Sherry and husband, Chris Wright of Salt Lake City, UT, Holley and husband, James Lamoreaux of Hurley, NM; aunts, Joy Galloway of Albuquerque, NM, and Minnie Navarro of Portales, NM; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne F. Vanderford, and a brother Joseph Harry Chambers. Mr. Vanderford was an electrical engineering student at Eastern New Mexico University and currently employed with West Texas Lighting. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the Bernalillo United Methodist Church, 135 W. Calle don Andres, in Bernalillo, NM with Rev. Ron Komatz officiating. Yards -- Albin"Al" Yards, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Friday, May 10, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josephine"Jo" Yards; daughters, Jan Marie Miller and Marsha Jo Brooks and husband Dwayne; grandchildren, Ken Miller and wife, Kimberly, Peggy Jo Miller, Shannon Brooks-Mann and husband Eric, and Jeffrey Brooks and wife, Tracey; great-grandson, Ryan Brooks; brother, Frank Yards, and many nieces and nephews and special friends. Al was born in Universal, Indiana and served in the United States Army during WW II. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Al was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, the Mountain West Regional Council of Carpenters and American Legion Post #99. The family wishes to express their appreciation to his doctors and the staff at Sandia Manor Care and Lovelace Hospice.
