Bailey -- Thomas Lee Bailey, born Monday, October 14, 1935 in Coral Gables, FL, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2002. He retired from the Air Force after serving for 22 years. He is survived by his wife, Cruz Bailey; son, Jose Bailey and wife, Susan, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Tom Jr. and wife, Rachel, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughters, Liz Scroggins and husband, Jeff of Derby, KS, and Rosie Hill and husband, Jeff, of Corrales, NM; and 10 grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his son, Albert Bailey. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Baker -- Elma Norene McFarland Baker, 87 went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2002 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Baker, a native of New Mexico, born in Roswell, New Mexico on February 25, 1915 to Dan and Vina McFarland was raised on the Block Ranch. Elma retired from the Visiting Nursing Service in 1977. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Los Alamos Chapter, and a member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Mrs Baker was a resident of Three Fountains Apartment for three years. She is preceded in death by her husband Luther Vernon Baker in 1961; two brothers J.D. McFarland of Carlsbad, New Mexico and William McFarland of Tennessee. She is survived by her three children, son, Gary Dean Baker and wife, Patsy, of Thornton, Colorado; daughter, Dinah Jean Robinson and husband, Frank, of Albuquerque; son, John Caleb Baker, and wife, Barbara of Albuquerque; sister, Mozelle Edgar and husband, Donald, of Tennessee; David McFarland and wife, Jesse, of Roswell; sister, Lena Mae Hobbs, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Barbara Ann Rappenecker and husband, Steve, of Colorado, Rebecca McElyea and husband, Tim, of North Carolina; Deborah Dean Baker of North Carolina; Tammy Halliburton and husband Donn of Albuquerque; Erick Robinson and Joy Robinson both of Albuquerque; step-grandchildren, Karen Gonzalez and husband, John and Kelly Parrish all of Albuquerque; great Grandchildren, Nathan, Danielle, Nicholas, Mikayah, Bethany, Brittany, Jacob Halliburton all of Albuquerque, Lensey McElyea of North Carolina; two step great grandchildren; John Austin and Julia Anne Gonzalez of Albuquerque; numerous nieces and nephews. Carle -- Louise B. Carle, 68, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 20 years, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2002. Louise was born June 18, 1933 the daughter of Antonio V. and Regina Gorganelli Battaglia in Waterbury, Connecticut. Louise was a registered nurse in the hospital healthcare industry until her retirement. She came to New Mexico from Englewood, New Jersey. She volunteered with Acantilado Vista by helping organize a Bible study. Louise was a member of the Grace Outreach Center Church. She was a devoted Christian, wife, and mother. Louise is survived by her husband Robert B. Carle of the family home; four children, Matthew Carle, Karen Leyba and husband, Tom, Brenda Jones and husband, Thomas, and Brian Carle, all of Rio Rancho; three sisters, Dora Lescarda of Watertown, CT, Lucy Gardner of Wolcott, CT, Rosemary LaMay of Waterbury, CT; and one brother, Billy Battaglia of Watertown, CT. De Soto -- De Damacio De Soto lived and died in the South Valley of Albuquerque. If you knew or met Damacio, you found he was not easy to forget. Damacio leaves behind his mother, grandmother, one daughter, four sons, two step daughters, one step son, six sisters, and two brothers. Dodd -- Edwin D. Dodd, Sr., 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1939, died Friday, May 10, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn of 57-1/2 years; a son; two daughters; one brother, Harold Dodd and wife, Audrey of Texarkana, TX; one sister, Nell McBride of Yukon, OK; sister-in-law, Reba Jennings ('Lil Seester) of North Little Rock, AR; loving extended family, Lori and Gary Galemore; and many friends. Grabiel -- Gordon F. Grabiel, 63, loving husband, daddy and papa, died Thursday, May 9, 2002. Hayth -- Irene Martha Hayth, 87, died Friday, May 10, 2002. On a spring moring God chose to take home our lovely wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. We thank Him for letting us share in her life and her faith. She was born in Jefferson City, MO on April 1, 1915 and lived in El Paso, Texas for 38 years before moving to Albuquerque, NM four years ago. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harvey Hayth of Albuquerque; daughter, Harriet Garcia and husband, Leo of Albuquerque son, Mickey Hayth and wife, Linda of Reno, NV; granddaughters, Heather Garcia, Vanessa Garcia, Genevieve Garcia, all of Albuquerque and Lily Hayth of Reno, NV; grandson, Leo Arthur Garcia, Jr. of Albuquerque; great-granddaugher Anastacia Garcia of Albuquerqe; sister, Clara Schreiffer of Jefferson City, MO; and brother, Violor Ihler of Jefferson City, MO. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Bertha, Augusta and Florence and two brothers, John and Eugene. Hogue -- John T. Hogue, passed away at Lovelace Medical Center May 9, 2002 after a long illness. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on February 12, 1926. He is survived by his wife, Ellen R. Hogue whom he married November 24, 1944; he is also survived by two sons, Richard and wife, Barbara, Thomas and wife, Lori; one daughter, Lori Truster and husband, Mathew; four grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Melissa and Tommy Hogue all of Albuquerque, NM; numerous nieces and nephews. John was treasurer and Past Master of Sandia Mountain Lodge #72 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Mason 32nd Degree Knights Commander of the Court of Honor, past president of South Central Jurisdictional United Methodist Men. Lemons -- Roy Lemons, 83, a resident of Rio Communities, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2002. He was born in Caddo, Texas on December 15, 1918. The highlights of his many accomplishments included helping to place the first telephone lines through the Grand Canyon during his service with the Civilian Conservation Corporation (CCC) from 1936 to 1939, vice president of CCC from 1982 to 2002 which organized in Albuquerque, NM, and during the 1940's when he was president of the Teamsters in Albuquerque. He was a member of the Grand Canyon Historical Society and the New Deal Preservation Society. Preceding him in death were his son, Edwin in 1994; his daughter, Kathleen Lemons in 1970; his sisters, Evelyn Lemons and Irene McPherson; and his brother, Paul Lemons. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Edna; his brother, Raymond Lemons and his wife, Elizabeth of Phoenix, Az; his sister, Alice Coulter and her husband, Ralph of Clinton, Mo; four grandchildren, Roy C. Lemons of Dallas, Tx; Sean P. Lemons and his wife, Margarita of Belen; Amy M. Reinicke and her husband, Bill of Albuquerque; and Cindy L. Lemons of Tallahassee, Fl; and six great-grandchildren, Christina, Christian, and Tiffany Lemons of Belen; Alica and Tracy Joiner of Tallahassee, Fl; and Sabrina Archuleta and her husband, Tony of Spokane, Wa; two great-great grandchildren, Anthony and Alicia Archuleta of Spokane, Wa. Lovato -- Mrs. Delfinia Lovato, 87, born in Revuelto, NM, passed away on May 11, 2002 and has joined her beloved husband Anastacio Lovato. Mrs. Lovato is survived by her daughter, Theodorita (Theo) Aragon and husband Mike; 3 sons, Anastacio Lovato Jr., Jake Lovato, and Steve Lovato; 1 sister, Estella Rangel; 1 brother, Willie Esquibel; 10 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Lovato was a member of the Catholic Church and retired from General Dynamics in Pamona, California. A visitation for Mrs. Lovato will be Monday evening at 6:30pm at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Place NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm by Charles Martinez. Moku -- Sgt Major Richard K. M. Moku, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964,died peacefully at home on May 9, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Madeleine B. Moku. He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Moku of Boulder CO, Marilyn Kunde of Albuquerque, and Madeleine R. Moku of Albuquerque; son Richard K. Moku Jr., and wife Nadine of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Thomas Duane, Holly Duane, Tashi Duane, Sean Kloppenburg, Amanda Moku, Jaclyn Moku, Gavin Moku, and Gary Moku; and sister Eva Lum. Richard was born in south Kona on the island of Hawaii on June 30, 1921. His childhood years were spent on his family's land at a small coral beach on the west coast of Hawaii. On the hills above this cove, they grew coffee. Ocean swimming, diving, and spear fishing were natural skills for him. After his parents' deaths, Richard moved to the island of Maui, where he was adopted by his aunt and uncle, both revered ministers of the Congregational Church. A desire to see the world prompted him to join the U.S. Army after high school graduation. He was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, where he met his future wife, Madeleine B. Hustinx, A Belgian citizen. His distinguished military career of nearly 30 years, with additional years in the Army Reserve, included serving in the Korean conflict and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He achieved the highest rank of a non-commissioned officer, that of Sargeant Major. After retirement from military service, Mr Moku began a 2nd career as a dental lab technician, which lasted over 20 years. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, at French Mortuary Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetary. Orona -- 02/01/1905 - 05/12/2002 Juan Orona, 97, a resident of El Cerro, NM peacefully joined our Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2002 surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, NM. He retired from AT&SF Railroad in 1970 but Juan continued farming and ranching until the age of 94. Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Modesta in 2000; two granddaughters, Theresa Romero; and Carol Armendariz; two great-grandsons, Jessie Romero and Joseph Orona; and his son-in-law, Juan Romero. Juan is survived by his six loving children, Willie of Los Lunas; Valentine and his wife, Mary of Lompoc, CA; Lillian Romero of Tome, NM; Oswald and his wife, Ruth of Las Nutrias, NM; Patricia Montis and her husband, Ralph of Los Lunas, NM; and Dorothy Godley and her husband, John of Springfield, VA; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Melinde Orona of Adelino, NM. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Monday, May 13, 2002 at Romero Funeral Home at 5:30pm with a rosary following at 6:00pm. Rimsha -- Cleo Rimsha, 97, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, May 11, 2002. She is survived by her son, Bernard W. Rimsha and wife, Kathy, of Albuquerque, granddaughter, Alyson Rimsha; sister in laws, Helen Juraska and Katie Ketter; nieces, Carol, Phyllis and Cele; nephew, Douglas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Rimsha, three brothers, Phil, Bruno and Eddie and one sister in law, Stella. Cleo moved to Albuquerque in 1955 from the Chicago area. She was a member of the Christian Women's Association, La Mesa Senior Citizens Center, Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and supported the 4-H club. She will be greatly missed. Roach -- Linda Sue Roach, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, May 11, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Monty H. Roach; daughter, Kristin Keeney and husband, Mike, of Albuquerque; son, Jeremy Roach and wife, Melissa, of Schererville, IN; grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin and Zachary; mother, Mildred Shook of Albuquerque; brothers, Kenneth Shook of New York City, NY and Karl Shook and wife, Denise, of Houston, TX; and several nephews, nieces and numerous friends. Sullivan -- Beloved Martha C. Sullivan was born in Wellington, Kansas on February 2, 1916. God called her shortly after surgery on May 9, 2002. Her life was a celebration of heartfelt kindness, charity, and unceasing love to her family who cherished her and all whose lives she touched. She moved to Albuquerque shortly after World War II and served the community as a private duty Orthopedic Nurse at St. Joseph and Presbyterian hospitals. After her nursing career, she managed the Sun Drug Company which she co-owned with her late husband, Charles S. Sullivan. She is survived by her daughter Christal Kodak and husband, Robert Kodak of Los Gatos, CA; her grandchildren Ronald J., Andrew P. and wife Jorina; Kellye C. Kodak; and 4 great-grandchildren; brother Francis E. Heydt of Miami,OK; and many nieces and nephews throughout the country. Vanderford -- John Philip Vanderford, age 35, died May 8, 2002. Whitehead -- Theodore J. Whitehead, age 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Thursday in a local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Leta of the family home; brother, Donald (Lucille) of Las Cruces, NM; nieces, Diane Cowden of Riverton, Iowa, Faydean Smith of Hamburg, Iowa; and other nieces and nephews from Albuquerque. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is handling arrangements for Theodore.

Yards -- Albin "Al" Yards, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Friday, May 10, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josephine"Jo" Yards; daughters, Jan Marie Miller and Marsha Jo Brooks and husband Dwayne; grandchildren, Ken Miller and wife, Kimberly, Peggy Jo Miller, Shannon Brooks-Mann and husband Eric, and Jeffrey Brooks and wife, Tracey; great-grandson, Ryan Brooks; brother, Frank Yards, and many nieces and nephews and special friends. Al was born in Universal, Indiana and served in the United States Army during WW II. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Al was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, the Mountain West Regional Council of Carpenters and American Legion Post #99. The family wishes to express their appreciation to his doctors and the staff at Sandia Manor Care and Lovelace Hospice. Rosary and Prayer Service will be recited Tuesday, May 14, 2002, 7:00 pm at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE. Committal Services will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2002, 11:00 am at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. The family will receive friends at French Mortuary, Tuesday, May 14, 2002 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lovelace Hospice, 4503 Gibson SE, Siesta Hills Bldg, 1, 87108 or to the charity of your choice.
