Granados -- Mr. Joseph"Joe" Granados died on Saturday at the age of 80. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1944. Mr. Granados was originally from Gallup, New Mexico. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mr. Granados was also a retired member of Carpenter's Local Union 1319, and an original member of the Grower's Market. He recently was retired from his pinon business. Mr. Granados is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Socorro Granados; and his grandson, Brian Zubia. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dolores DeLara Granados; his son, Raymond Granados of Poway, CA; grandsons, Kirk Zubia and Jason Zubia; his daughters, Frances Williams of Laguna, NM, Ellen Sparks of Baton Rouge, LA, Linda De La Pena; his sister, Margarita Granados of Los Angeles, CA; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Granados will be held on Tuesday at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kirk Zubia, Jason Zubia, Danny Zubia, Andre Campos, Jerry T. Campos, and Braulio Vega. A Rosary will be recited on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Also, the family wishes to express a special thanks to Jason and Tera Zubia who lovingly cared for Grandpa until his passing. Arrangements by the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Jones -- Marvis Ella Bates Jones, 74, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2000 in Socorro, NM. She was born on June 24, 1926 to Oscar and Lizzie Buley Salsman in Mack, KY. Marvis came to the Southwest when she was 20 years old. She married Tom H. Bates on April 18, 1949 and they lived near Mexico City, Mexico before returning to his ranch near Quemado, NM where they raised three children. In 1983 they sold the Drag Y Ranch and retired to Socorro. Tom preceded her in death in 1985. She married Robert P. Jones of Globe, AZ and resided in Arizona for a short while before returning to Socorro. She is survived by her husband, Robert of their home in Socorro; daughter, Jane Ferguson of Socorro; sons, Tom H. Bates Jr. of Cove, AR and Tim Bates of Albany, OR; sisters, Opal Chisholm, Elsie Watson and Leora Salsman, all of the Kewanee, IL area and Macel Thompson of Campbellsvile, KY; niece, Veronica Parker of Moriarty, NM; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. It should be noted that Marvis recently acquired a new fish story to now be told in Heaven. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2000 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Steadman-Hall Funeral Home. Jornigan -- John H. Jornigan, 66, a loved husband and friend, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 3, 2000. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on December 3, 1933. John served with the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired as a MSGT in 1972. He was the Field Operations Director with the NM State Highway and Transportation Department until 1991. He retired and traveled with his wife, and he played the horses when he could. He is survived by his wife, Carolie; dog, Cody; step-daughter, Wendy Deluca of Albuquerque; mother, Hazel Jornigan; sisters, Emma Holtz and Mary Short; and brother, Scott Jornigan all from Ohio; brother-in-law, Jerry Crowder and wife, Kathryn; nephews, Matthew Crowder and Nathan Crowder and wife, Brandy; daughters, Gail Spiess, Cheryl Guilmett, Beverly Jornigan; son, Glenn Jornigan; and grandchildren. We all miss him very much. Graveside services will be held, Tuesday, 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Mckown -- Vincent Irene Price, age 74, a resident here since 1949, passed away Friday in a local hospital. She was preceded in her death by her loving husband of 52 years, Kenneth L. McKown. Her son, Randal McKown; daughter-in-law, Barbara Belanger; granddaughter, Allie McKown; and sisters, Sue Birkelo and LaRue Smyers survive her. Mrs. McKown was a retired school teacher from Albuquerque Public Schools having taught many years at Monroe Junior High and Manzano High School. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond Place NE followed by graveside services in Santa Fe at the National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Avenue SE, in charge of arrangements.

Phebus -- William"Bill" W. Phebus, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1930 died Thursday, August 3, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Darlene A Phebus of Albuquerque; daughter, Sharon Wagner and husband, Robert of Rio Rancho, and Sheila Wilhemi and husband, Lenard of Conchas Dam, NM; grandchildren, Carrie Lagomarsino and husband, Peter, Carla Jo McBurney and Rhonda Goss and husband, Don; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Lagomarsino, Samual, Xiao and Joseph McBurney, Zachary Calhoon, Joshua and Jacqueline Goss. Mr. Phebus served overseas with the 200th Coast Artilery. He was on the Bataan death march and was a POW from 1942-1945 in Manchuria. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1964. He was a member of DAV Post #33. Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Larry Pierson officiating. Smith -- Mary Sutton Smith passed away on August 2, 2000 in Albuquerque, following a short illness. She was born August 11, 1909 in Seneca, Missouri to Smith Alexander Sutton and Martha Reneer Sutton. She married Wilbur Earl Smith Jr. in July, 1928. He preceded her in death in 1959. There were three children of this marriage, Martha Smith of Conroe, TX, Wilbur E. Smith III and wife, Kaye of LaPorte, TX, and Michael S. Smith of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Lisa Leming of Tomball, TX, Linda Rampy and husband, Ty of Calvert, TX, and Corey Jason Smith of Ft. Meade, MD; three great-grandchildren, Madison and Ty Evans Rampy of Calvert, TX and Mari Margaret Leming of Tomball, TX; one nephew, Paul William Matthews and wife, Rita of Oklahoma City, OK. Mary had one sister, Bernice Sutton Matthews Brady of Seneca, Missouri, who preceded her in death. There will be cremation with a memorial service at a later date.

Stuckey -- Glenn W. Stuckey, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Thursday, August 3, 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Glenna L. Stuckey of Los Lunas; grandson, Matthew Adam Stuckey of Los Lunas; granddaughter, Kelly S. Greve of Edgewood; four great-grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer, Jillian and Bradley, all of Edgewood; sister, Pauline M. Baker of Troy, MO; numerous friends including special friends, Betty N. Ostrom, Dave and Lou Royster, Robert F. Harrison, Jim Brister and Colvin Futrell, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Stuckey was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Stephen Stuckey in 1978. Mr. Stuckey retired from the Armed Forces after 22 years of service. Fourteen of his years were at Kirtland Air Force Base. He was a life member of the Air Force Association, the Air Force Sergeants Association, a charter member of the Non-Commissioned Officers of America, the Amvets, American Legion Post 75 in Jemez Springs, NM, the National Association of Atomic War Veterans, the National Rifle Association, and the New Mexico Shooting Sports Association. Services will be held Monday, 12:00 noon, at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution NE, with Dr. Robert J. Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Thoma -- Virginia A. (Ginger) Thoma, 67, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, passed away August 4, 2000. She was a retired Realtor active in Garden Club and youth sports programs. She is survived by her daughter, Gina Thoma; son, John Thoma and wife, Linda; son, Mike Thoma and wife, Cindy; daughter, Gigi Thoma and fiancee, Dennis Zacharias; grandchildren, Carl Thoma and wife, Michelle, Micah Thoma and fiancee, Johnny Buffalow, Josh Thoma and Peter Thoma; great-grandchild, Auren Thoma; mother, Virginia (Nannaw) Jimmerson; sister, Vona Lewis; brothers, Roy Moore and wife, Ardeen, James Odle and wife, Amelda. She is preceded in death by her husband, Peter J. Thoma; her father, Leonard Thoma; and her grandson, Justin Kitchens. Her many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law, aunt and friends will grieve her passing. Services will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at French Mortuary Lomas Blvd. Chapel, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Niven Drybrough, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
