Byars -- Neva Fern Young Byars, age 87, of Schulenburg, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2000 in Weimar, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in the Riverside Cemetery in Wichita Falls with Dr. Terry Bowman, Pastor of Lamar Baptist Church. Burial will be under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview. Mrs. Byars was born on December 14, 1912 in Archer County, Texas, and was the daughter of Etta (Gholson) and Elwood Lacey Young. Fern moved to Wichita Falls as a child, where she attended school and graduated in December, 1930 from Wichita Falls High School. She married R.D. Byars on February 11, 1931. They were married for 67 years until his death on November 16, 1998. She was a homemaker all of her life and enjoyed her hobby of Geneology of both the Gholson and Young families. She and her husband made their home in Albuquerque from 1947 until 1981, when they moved to Temple, Texas. From there they moved to Schulenburg, where they resided for ten years and were members of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Joseph H. Wellborn Jr. of Schulenburg, TX; one brother, Walter Allen of Wichita Falls; three grandsons, Joseph H. Wellborn III, Ryan D. Wellborn and Paul Alexander Wellborn; two granddaughters, Susannah M. Wellborn and Elizabeth L. Wellborn; two great-granddaughters, Samantha Mae Wellborn and Mary Catherine Wellborn. Memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church, Schulenburg, Texas 78956.

Dalton -- In Memory ofTHOMAS V. DALTON January 22, 1971 - December 5, 1999Born in Edina, Tom was a native of Minnesota. He graduated, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1993. He was a member of Chi Epsilon, The National Civil Engineering Honor Society, and Tau Beta Pi. On his graduation, he moved to Albuquerque, where he was employed by Dames & Moore, Smith Engineering, and most recently by the engineering consultants firm of BRW. He received Registrations as a Professional Engineer in New Mexico in August, 1998 and in Colorado in September, 1999. He was working on his Masters Degree in C.E. at the University of New Mexico. While serving on the Fair West Neighborhood Association's Board of Directors in 1998 & 1999, Tom shared his talents by helping on a number of projects designed to improve the quality of life for his neighbors. Tom enjoyed many sports, but was a bicycling enthusiast. He toured in both the USA and Europe. Tom is survived by his parents, John and Marge Dalton; brothers, Gregory and wife, Julie, John and wife, Tammy, Mark and Sarah, Jim and fiance, Zoe; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends, neighbors and co-workers. He was a concerned and caring person who left us too soon. He is loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. An informal memorial service, to remember Tom and celebrate his life, will be held Sunday, February 20, 2000 at the Marion L. Fox Memorial Park, in the 700 Block between Alvarado and Valencia NE at 1:00 p.m. All those who knew and cared for him are invited to attend. If our capricious New Mexico weather interferes, the service will be re-relocated nearby.

Ford -- Rosemary D. Ford, age 74, resident of Albuquerque for 49 years, died on February 16, 2000 at her home in Albuquerque. Mrs. Ford is survived by her husband of 52 years, John P. Ford; her daughter, Colleen Meseroll and husband, William of Santa Rosa, CA; sons, Dan Ford and wife, Susan of Seattle, WA, Jerry Ford of Albuquerque; Jeff Ford and wife, Elizabeth of Corrales; five grandchildren, Molly and Katie Meseroll, Andrea and Sam Ford, and Carlene Ford. Mrs. Ford was active in church activities at Holy Ghost Parish for many years. She served as an officer for the Marie Amadeus Shelter for Homeless Women and was also active with Birthright of Albuquerque serving as a counselor, board president and treasurer. She was an ardent golfer and belonged to the Los Altos Women's Golf Association and Gourmet Golf Group. A prayer service will be held at Holy Ghost Church, 833 Arizona SE, 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2000. Mass will celebrated be at Holy Ghost Church, 833 Arizona SE, Saturday, February 19, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joe Vigil, Celebrant. Interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Germelman -- Ernest G. Germelman, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Wednesday, February 15, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Pearle; daughter, Barbara Lauriano and husband, Charles M.; and grandson, Justin Lauriano, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Germelman was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13 and the Disabled American Veterans. Jackson -- Joyce Elois Jackson, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2000. Mrs. Jackson was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a talented artist. She is survived by one son, Bob Jackson and his wife, Ruby of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Betty Tierney and husband, Daniel of Beeville, TX, Rosemary Stakvel and husband, Curley of Cedar Crest, Lee Jackson of Houston, TX, Paula Hayden and husband, Jeff of Albuquerque, Laura Wood and husband, Woody, of Beeville, TX, Rex Jackson and wife, Julie of Austin, TX, and Tresa Coker and husband, David of Carrolton, TX; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, A.M. (Buck) Jackson in October, 1998; a son, Bill Jackson; and a grandson, Jay Morgan Jackson. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Services will be on Saturday, February 19, 2000 at Chester T. Jaramillo -- Henry Jaramillo, 74, a resident of Belen, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 15, 2000. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Henry attended Eastern University in Silver City and finished his teaching credentials at Kellogg's Satellite School of U.C.L.A. Henry took his craft as a machinist and taught at schools in California. He loved to teach and train students his craft. After retiring from teaching he went to work for I.M.C. Magnetics in Tempe, AZ, retiring in 1991. He and Mary moved back to Belen where he had a Wrought Iron Shop in Rio Communities. They also managed the Yucca Storage and R.V. Park south of Belen. Then he went to work for Wal-Mart in the Sporting Goods Department where he worked until his illness. He was preceded in death by his son, Louis John in 1976; his sister, Priscilla Wilson in 1996. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary of the family home in Belen; his two children, Henry Jr. of Norwalk, CA and Mary Adame of Belen; his granddaughter, Janell Andrade also of Belen; two brothers, Bill and his wife, Jean of Lodi, CA, Johnny and his wife, Yolanda of Las Cruces; three sisters, Helen Gomez and her husband, Gilbert of Anthony, NM, Orfita Jimenez of El Paso, TX and Bertha Ruesga of Eau Claire, WS. Henry is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Keith -- Steven R. Keith, 40, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, February 17, 2000. He is survived by his parents, Don and Marianne Keith; brothers, Donald Scott Keith and wife, Lori and Brian D. Keith; grandfather, Richard L. Converse of Mesa, AZ; nephews, Redmon Keith and Donald Q. Keith, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Keith was involved with Albuquerque Tennis, teaching for the City of Albuquerque. He was an active softball player, playing with the"Ducks." Mr. Keith was a general contractor and he managed several apartment complexes in the University area. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Charles E. Price officiating. Private interment will take place. Kerby -- Donna O. Kerby, 57, succumbed to cancer after a long and courageous battle on Thursday, February 17, 2000. Donna was a resident of Belen. She was born in Clovis, NM on May 3, 1942. She later moved to Belen in 1949 and graduated from Belen High School in 1960. Donna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belen. As a teenager she was active in GA's and spent seven summers at the Inlow Youth Camp, most of them volunteering as a counselor. She attended Hardin Simmons University in Texas. Donna worked for three years as a Bill Clerk with the Santa Fe Railway and another 18 years at the NMSU Agricultural Science Center. Donna was an avid music lover; it was a very big part of her life. She played the piano, sang in the choir, and was an"All State" trumpet player in the BHS Band. Donna was preceded in death by her father while serving in WWII, Roy Shoemate in 1944; her very special fathers, Lawrence Stanford in 1963 and Elvin Huey in 1990. She is survived by her life companion, Terry Moore of the family home in Belen; her mother, Merle Huey; her sons, Jeffrey Kerby and his son, Dustin, Jason Kerby and his wife, Melissa, and their daughter, Joanna; her sister, Bonnie Glover and her husband, Boyce; brothers, Larry Stanford and his wife, Nancy and Paul Stanford. Donna is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Belen. Interment will follow in the Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Fraser, Richard Garcia, Manuel Reyes, Mike English, Tom Place, and Danny Goodson."Many thanks from the family of Donna for the many contributions of help and love during her illness. Perea -- Theodore (Ted) Perea Jr., 65, a resident of San Francisco, California for over 30 years, passed away on February 5, 2000 at the Veterans Hospital in San Francisco after battling cancer for the past year. He was the son of Palmer Alarid and Ted Perea Sr., both deceased. He was born in Albuquerque on the 13 of October, 1934. He joined the US Marine Corp in 1951 and served four years. He retired from Hertz Car Rental in San Francisco two years ago after over 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Phillip Perea. He is survived by five brothers, Lorenzo Perea and wife, Carmen, Joe (Kandy) Candelaria and wife, Sandy, Edward, Louie and Ricky Candelaria; and five sisters, Eleanor Apodaca and husband, Harold, Antonette Dietrich and husband, Bill, Gloria Hossom, Margie Lopez and husband, Randy, Alice Candelaria; and very close friends, George and Joann Lung. A special thanks to Gigi Trabant, RN, who held Ted in her arms for us in his final hour of life and for her special care she gave him during his stay at the VA. Also thanks go to Dr. Ben Davoren who took a personal interest in Ted, and to his friends and neighbors, Mark, Charles and Frank for helping him during his time of treatment. His body was cremated in San Francisco on Saturday the 12th of February, 2000. He will be missed greatly by family and friends where he left some special memories.

Schildknecht -- Phillip Douglas Schildknecht, 52, passed away on Thuirsday, February 10, 2000 in Batesville, MS. Phillip was born in Albuquerque on September 26, 1947 to Harold and Glenda Schildknecht. He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Heather Schildkencht of Little Rock, AK; son, Galen Schildknecht of Seattle, WA; his mother, Glenda Schildknecht of Southhaven, MS; and one grandchild. He was a graduate of Sandia High School and the University of New Mexico. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Batesville, MS and was a US Army veteran. Services were held on Saturday, February 12, 2000 in Forest Hill South Cemetery in Memphis, TN. Dickins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
