Baldino -- Sally Esther Baldino, 86, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 22 years, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 1998. Sally was born January 29, 1912, the daughter of Francis E. and Sadie E. Alvord Wolfgang in Halifax, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. She came to New Mexico from New Jersey. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Baldino in 1984. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ann Taylor and her husband, Lynn Edward; grandchildren, James A. Yeager and Sherrie Ann Cordova; one great-grandson, Dakota James Yeager. The visitation for Sally will be held today, Tuesday, March 31, 1998 in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Martin Capehart officiating. Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to benefit the Hospice Patient Care Fund. Boesenberg -- Charles William Boesenberg. A memorial service will be held for Charles Boesenberg on Friday, April 3, 1998 at Central United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Boesenberg passed away on March 24, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on January 20, 1924 in Camden, OH. Dr. Boesenberg moved his family from Ohio in 1956 and remained in Albuquerqeu for the rest of his life. He practiced podiatric medicine in Albuquerque for 50 years. He was a member of the Elks, Masonic Temple Shrine, Moose Lodge, and past president of the New Mexico Podiatric Medical Association. In his final years he was also active with the Cancer Association, making many trips to the surrounding areas informing people of the dangers of cigarette smoking. Dr. Boesenberg was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Boesenberg on January 12, 1997. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Curto; and two sons, Karl and Kurt Boesenberg. He also has four wonderful grandchildren, Amanda Curto, Rachel and Drew Boesenberg and Sophie Boesenberg. Cremation has already taken place and arrangements by Sunrise Society. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful people at Presbyterian Hospice which made his final days more peaceful. We wish all donations be made to Presbyterian Hospice.

Bowdish -- A Memorial service for Nina F. Carter -- Anna Frances Davalos Carter, a native of New Mexico, passed away early Sunday morning, March 29, 1998, after a painful struggle with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband, Ray; son, Mike Goodwin; daughters, Cyndi Goodwin and Alyson Kite and husband, Lindsey; sister, Terry Oehm and husband, Hank, all residents of Albuquerque; brother, Jeff and wife, Jo of Tucson, AZ; stepchildren, Becky, Alan, Barbara, and Ray; grandchildren, Jennifer Martinez of Fort Collins, CO, and Brooke Cromwell of Albuquerque; great-grandchild, Joey of Albuquerque; niece, Elena Giacci and husband, Gary; nephew, David Giacci; dog, Mulligan and cats, Wesley and Aggie Doone, also residents of Albuquerque. Although born in Tularosa, Mrs. Carter lived all of her life in Albuquerque. She loved to collect matchbooks, but her passion was collecting owls--her home is a testament to this collection. Mrs. Carter was a loving wife and mother, a good friend, and will be missed by all who knew her. Coon -- Charles Leland Coon, 74, died after a long courageous battle with Lou Gehrigs Disease on Friday, March 27, 1998 at 10:30 p.m. with his loving wife, Carole by his side. Charles was owner/operator of Charles Coon Sign and Lighting for 55 years. He had friends everywhere he went. In the words of his grandson, Dean Cotton,"He was the smartest man I have ever known." Mr. Coon was loved and will be missed by his four children, Charlotte Thomas of Denver, CO, Charles Coon Jr. and wife, Jerra Dee of Albuquerque, Linda Thornton and husband, Neil of Bosque Farms, and Cheryl Kuebrich of Denver, CO. Mr. Coon will also be deeply missed by the mother of his children, Ruth Coon; his step-children, Stephanie, Harry, Allen and Dennis; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom share special memories of him. Higgins -- Kennth E. M.D., age 87, of Cochiti Lake, died March 28, at his home. Mr. Higgins is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth; sons, Bruce Higgins and Keith Higgins and wife, Katie; grandchildren, Karen Higgins, Stuart Higgins and wife, Andrea, Pat Higgins and wife, Julie, Chris Higgins, Andrew Higgins and wife, Madelynne, and Tim Higgins; great-grandchildren, Kody, Jesse and Elizabeth. Dr. Higgins graduated Indiana University School of Medicine in 1936 and started his practice in Clovis, NM in 1937. He also served in the South Pacific in WWII. Holt -- Bob C. Holt, 75, passed away Saturday evening, March 28, 1998, at Plains Regional Medical Center-Portales Nursing Home. Mr. Holt was born in Kosciusko, MS to the parents, Millie Viola (Thornton) and William Sanford Holt. He married Frances M. Johnson on February 24, 1946 in Shreveport, LA at the University Baptist Church. He was a resident of Albuquerque from 1959 until 1985, where he was employed at Sandia Laboratory for 31 years. In 1985, following his retirement, he moved to Portales. He was active in his church as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, and as the Training Union Director. He loved his family and enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. Mr. Holt is survived by his wife, Frances M. Holt of Portales; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bobby C. Holt Jr. of Albuquerque, Tim and Sara Holt of Edgewood, NM, and Mike and Amy Holt of Portales; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy (Johnson) and Christ Frederick of Portales; nine grandchildren; one brother, Dean Holt of Bossier City, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and one brother. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 1998, 2:00 p.m., at University Baptist Church in Portales, with Rev. Steve Smith, assisted by Rev. Jim Wilkerson. Burial will be in Shreveport, LA on Friday, April 3, 1998. Those desiring to make memorial contributions may make them to the charity of their choice. Jenks -- John"Pappy" Jack Jenks, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, died Friday, March 27, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elda V. Jenks of the family home; daughter, Linda L. Owen and husband, Donald C. of Texas; granddaughter, Crystal L. Owen of Texas; and niece, Shirley Brady of San Diego, CA. John was born June 2, 1913, in Jessup, IA. He entered the United States Navy at the age of 17 on August 17, 1930. During his time in the Navy, he served on four 4-Pipers, 1100 Ton Class Destroyers and also The USS Downs, The USS Warrington, The USS Sumner, and The USS Wedderburn. He retired from the Navy on February 19, 1957, with a rank of Chief Torpedoman after 26 years of service. John was a charter member of The Warren G. Harding Masonic Lodge in Paulsbo, WA and also a member of the D.A.V. Post 3 in Albuquerque. He was a hard working, kind and loving man who took care of his family and his country. He will be missed. Legendre -- Clarence E. LeGendre, 76, died March 28, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sofie LeGendre of Albuquerque; daughters, Gisela Noddin and husband, Chuck of New Hampshire, Renate Magee of New Hampshire, and Regina Circeo and husband, Bob of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends. Mr. LeGendre served over 30 years in the U.S. Air Force and he served during World War II and in Vietnam, before retiring in 1973. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery with Rev. Maldonado -- Bernardino"Bernie" Maldonado, 58, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday in a local hospital. Mr. Maldonado was born April 12, 1939 in Escabosa, NM to Pablo and Floripa Maldonado. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Helen of the family home; one son, Robert and wife, Tersita; two daughters, Theresa Gurule and husband, Matthew, Bernadette Maldonado; two granddaughters, Danielle and Sara Gurule. Also surviving are eight brothers, Louie, Morris and wife, Angie, Johnny and wife, Bobbie, Luciano, Porfilo and wife, Lydia, Ernest, Paul and wife, Patsy, and Florian Maldonado; one sister-in-law, Eva Bernal and husband, Ernest. He will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated this morning, 10:00 a.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Morley -- Peggy Ann Morley, 49, died on Friday, March 27, 1998, from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Peggy is survived by her devoted companion, Robert Bingham; mother, Gerry Morley; daughter, Shawna LaValley; granddaughter, Robin LaValley; brother, Fred Morley and wife, Lisa; sister, Mary Kay Archer and husband, Bruce; nieces, Sarah Archer, Katie Archer, Kelsey Morley; and nephew, John Archer. Peggy handled the many difficulties of her illness with dignity, bravery, grace, an abiding faith in the Lord, and a much-needed sense of humor. Cremation has taken place. Romero -- Mrs. Vangie"E.V." A. Gilliam-Romero, 51, went home to be with our Lord on March 29, 1998 after a courageous battle with cancer. Vangie was the beloved wife of 1 1/2 years to Robert A. Romero. She is also survived by her loving sons, Joseph A. Segura and fiancee, Serena and Ray Segura and wife, Lilly; her parents, George and Andrea Gilliam Sr.; sisters, Cathy Sanchez and husband, Levi, Dorothy Sanchez and husband, Steven, Carmen Contreras and husband, Elfego and Ramona Aragon and husband, Richard; three brothers, George Gilliam Jr., John Gilliam and wife, Laura and Fred Gilliam and wife, Laura; one beautiful and special granddaughter, Devin Marie Segura and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
