Apprill -- Catherine Morgan Apprill, 77, died peacefully in her home on February 28th. She is survived by her daughters, Ann L. Payne and husband, Don of Broken Arrow, OK, Mary Apprill-Gates and husband, Terry Gates of Rio Rancho, NM, and Jeanette Apprill of Albuquerque; son, Phil. M. Apprill and wife, Diane of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Christina Jardee and husband, Steven, Don P. Payne, Evelyn Payne, Aaron Payne, Bryn Catherine Apprill, Chris Gates and Brian Gates; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jonathan, and Micah Jardee and other loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Apprill; and her brother, Art Morgan Jr. Catherine was born in Santa Fe and was the daughter of Art Morgan, a well known journalist and editor for the New Mexican. She attended the University of New Mexico and was an active member of the Chi Omega sorority. Upon a graduation in 1943, she moved to Washington, DC and took a position at the Pentagon, where she worked in the clerical pool. During a visit to Santa Fe in 1946. Catherine met Gil Apprill and her life took an unexpected turn. On September 19, 1947 they were wed at St. Frances Cathedral, after which they took up residence in Los Alamos, where they lived for the next 30 years. Catherine was a devoted homemaker and mother, constantly involved in the lives of her four children. She was active in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, participated in many social groups and was well known for her award winning knitting. She taught knitting in nigh school classes and was a teacher's aide at Los Alamos High for many years. Catherine and Gil moved to Albuquerque in 1977, which led to 20 years of traveling, enjoying her grandchildren and socializing with her many dear friends. Though diagnosed with cancer in 1993, she managed to sustain a vibrant lifestyle and a positive outlook through some difficult times. Catherine was a loving and supportive mother and wife. She was a loyal and caring friend. Catherine's legacy to her family and friends is an enduring gift of love, faith and kindness that will forever brighten our lives and lift our spirits. Rosary will be recited Friday, 6:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Deacon Lloyd Martinez reciting. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria NE, with Fr. Albert Podvin, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Caracciolo -- Matthew Caracciolo, 78, Navigators Way, Edgewater, Florida, died Saturday, February 21, 1998. Born in New York, New York, Mr. Caracciolo came to Florida 2 1/2 years ago from South Carolina. He and his family were residents of Albuquerque from 1975 until 1987. Mr. Caracciolo was an Army Medic stationed at Fort Simmons, Colorado, during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. He attended both the Edgewater Alliance Church and the Faith Chapel of Port Orange, Florida. He is survived by is wife, Fay, Edgewater; a son, Matthew Jr., Long Island, NY; a daughter, Joan Terese Caracciolo, Plantation, FL; a brother, Larry Carray, Evergreeen, CO; five sisters, Connie Castilla, Albany, NY, Vivian Campana, Fort Mill, SC, Grace LeCorte, Whiting, NJ, Betty Carlo, Coral Springs, FL, Sabina Skibinski, Port St. Lucie, FL; and a grandchild, Janet Lynn Caracciolo, Knoxville, TN. Funeral services were held at Settle-Wilder's Edgewater Chapel, with Pastor Tim Foldy, Edgewater Alliance Church, officiating. He was entombed in Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Veterans Wall of Honor, Mausoleum in Edgewater. Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, 1620 Edgewater Drive, Edgewater, is in charge of arrangements.

Castillo -- Verna J. Castillo, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Sunday, March 1, 1998. She is survived by her daughters, Loyola Aragon and husband, Claudio of Los Lunas, Emelina Baca of Tijeras, Priscilla Makin and husband, Darrel of Phoenix, AZ, Cecilia Mondragon and Corina Garcia, both of Albuquerque, and Connie Lucero and husband, Joe of Santa Fe; sons, Sef Castillo and wife, Joann of Colorado Springs, CO and Emiliano Castillo and wife, Sherri Finch-Castillo of Albuquerque; brother, Margarito"Lucky" Rodriguez and wife, Gladys of Liberal, KS; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Confuso -- Vincenza Confuso, 97, passed away on March 2, 1998. She was born in Catania, Italy to Giacomo and Angelina LaRosa. She was a retired dressmaker and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rosario Confuso and is survived by a daughter, Mary A. Seibert of Rio Rancho; grandson, Russell D. Walters of Rio Rancho; granddaughter, Venisec Eder and husband, Jeffery of Rio Rancho; great-granddaughter, Ashley C. Foulenfont -- Joe M. Foulenfont, 89, a resident of Fort Bayard, entered eternal rest Sunday, March 1, 1998 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. Visitation will began Wednesday, March 4, 1998, 5:00 p.m., at Baca's Funeral Chapel with the Prayers Vigil following at 7:00 p.m. Deacon Johnnie Perez will be officiating. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday morning, 11:00 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in Reserve, with Father Pat Wedeking officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at Middle Frisco Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Foulenfont was born March 28, 1908 in Prescott, Arizona to the late John and Josephine McCullough Foulenfont. He retired from the Page Tavern in Page, Arizona that he owned and managed. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Trujillo and her husband, Sam of Silver City; one brother-in-law, Pat Armijo of Socorro; two sisters-in-law, Refugia Foulenfont of Prescott, AZ, Beatrice Foulenfont of Socorro; and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Candelaria Foulenfont who passed away September 16, 1997. Gomez -- Evelyn Luchini Gomez, age 52, died at her home in Albuquerque, where she had been a resident for 14 years, on March 2, 1998. Mrs. Gomez was also a former resident of Truth or Consequences and Las Cruces, NM and she was a Caseworker for the State of New Mexico Human Services Department. Mrs. Gomez was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Mrs. Gomez was born in Hot Springs, NM on February 10, 1946, to William A. and Lillie Chavez Luchini. She is survived by her husband, Eugene E. Gomez of the family home in Albuquerque; a daughter, Lillie Vega of Las Cruces, NM; a daughter, Annette and husband, Chris Jones of Tucson, AZ; her cousin, Adam Sanchez and wife, Sally of Alamogordo, NM; her aunt, Ruth Gallegos of Albuquerque; her longtime family friends, Nico and Paul Mercado of Las Cruces, NM, and Gene Mae Welch of Arrey, NM; and her best friends, Mary Jean Montoya and Felicia Samora, both of Albuquerque. King -- Mrs. Ola King, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday at the age of 78. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and had over 20 years service with Social Security. Perry -- Dwight Perry (49), Albuquerque resident since 1994, died of car accident complications, February 17, 1998. Funeral and burial services held February 21, 1998 in Groves, TX. Clayton Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments. He is buried in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, TX with full military honors. Dwight was a Vietnam Veteran hero. In his time of service as a Green Beret for the US Army, he was wounded seriously three times, receiving the Purple Heart for each occurrence. He also was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star for heroism and valor. Dwight received numerous Air Medals for parachute jumps made during that time. His presence and contributions to the Vietnam War were meritous and keenly felt by those in his unit and company. In many ways, Dwight gave his life for his country. Dwight is survived by his daughter and family, Shasta Jurovic of Houston, TX; and two grandchildren, Aimee Jurovic and Christofer Jurovic; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Perry of Port Neches, TX; a sister and family of Alabaster, GA, Debbie Newman, and a sister and family of Beaumont, TX, Diane Rienstra. Dwight is also survived by many friends of Albuquerque, including many associated with the PTSD program at the Albuquerque VA Medical Center. Additionally, he is survived by Susie Knutson, friend and companion. A Memorial service was held February 23, 1998 in the chapel of the VA hospital in Albuquerque, led by Chaplain Koch, where gathered friends were able to share in Dwight's memory and in their loss of him. Finally, Dwight, you can rest.

Pittman -- Arnold Charles Pittman, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Friday, February 27, 1998. He was a twin and was born April 18, 1917 to Frances Hill and Verne Elman Pittman in Liberal, KS. Mr. Pittman lived near Hooker, OK and in Leola, SD before moving to Lincoln, NE during the summer of 1934. After high school, Mr. Pittman attended the University of Nebraska for four years until his entrance into the U.S. Army. He married Bee Brigham on May 2, 1942. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Mr. Pittman is survived by his sons, John D. Pittman and wife, Diane, and Greg Pittman and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Danny, Michael, Jerry, Adam, and Arielle; sisters, Trudy Buck and Mary Walker and husband, Don; sisters-in-law, Patricia Brigham and Dee Keiss and husband, Harold; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, James Arnold in 1946; twin brother, Raymond; brother, Robert; and sister, Patricia. Cremation has taken place and private ennichement will follow. A memorial service will be held at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE, on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:00 a.m. A reception in the church parlor will immediately follow. Rainhart -- LeRoy G. (better known as Roy) Rainhart, 79, passed away Friday, February 27, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Roberta of 54 years; son, George Robert Rainhart and wife, Dolly of Albuquerque; daughter, Jean Rainhart Prokopiak of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Lara Ann Rainhart and husband, Jason Digman of Evanston, IL; grandson, Robert Latta Rainhart and wife, Elizabeth of Kissimmee, FL; three cousins, Benjamin Foot and wife, Lois, and George Foot and wife, Nancy, and Charles Foot and wife, Jean, all of California. Roy joined the Presbyterian Church at age 12; he later taught Sunday School and sponsored a Junior High Fellowship Group with his wife, Roberta. He was an ordained Elder and Deacon. Following graduation from NYU, with a BME, he was hired by Bell Telephone Laboratories. During World War II, he was CO of the 981st Corps of Engineers, which was part of General Patton's"spearhead across Europe." He retired from ATT Bell Laboratories in 1981 with 40 years, which included the four years in the Army and 28 years on a leave of absence to Sandia Labs to work on plastics and special materials. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 5301 Ponderosa NE, with The Rev. Carl Soderburg and The Rev. Kay Huggins officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church for the Capital Maintenance and Replacement Fund, 5301 Ponderosa NE, Albuquerque 87110. Reck -- Frank A. Reck, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Monday, March 2, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Pat Reck of Albuquerque; daughters, Linda Nollen and husband, Rick of Rio Rancho and Sharman Kovach and husband, George of Littleton, CO; son, James F. Reck of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Cristy Nollen of Rio Rancho; brothers, James J. Sanchez -- Odilia Sanchez, 73, a resident of Tome, NM, passed away on March 2, 1998, after a long illness. Odilia was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome. She farmed and ranched all her life, beginning with her father, and then later with her husband, Patricio. She retired from the State Health Dept. in Belen after 30 years of service. Odilia enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, and especially enjoyed playing bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Processo and Matilda Sanchez. Odilia is survived by her husband of 57 years, Patricio C. Sanchez of the family home in Tome, NM; children, Processo I. Sanchez and wife, Rosalie, Robert P. Sanchez and wife, Sandra, Jimmy Sanchez and daughter, Natalie and fiancee, Kathy Baca, all of Tome, NM. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held Wednesday, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m., also at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Sanchez -- Sally Sanchez, 76, died Saturday, February 28, 1998. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bob R. Stabler -- Mary Jane Stabler, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, March 1, 1998. She is survived by her husband, William L. Stabler of Albuquerque; daughters, Elizabeth Hallett of Belen and Amy Lord of Albuquerque; and sons, Mark Stabler of Chester, NJ, Michael Hall of Gormantown, OH, Jim Hall of Middletown, OH and Russell Stabler of Mt. View, CA. Mrs. Stabler was born in Red Lion, OH. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Mrs. Stabler was also a member of the Assistance League of Albuquerque and she served on Sandia Heights Board of Directors. She was an Air Observer in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Memorial mass will be held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at the Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE, with Fr. Antonio Mondragon, Celebrant. Private disposition will take place. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Assistance League of Albuquerque, 529 Chama NE 87108.

Warren -- Robert L. Warren, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 1998. Robert was born February 26, 1916 the son of Robert Lee and Elizabeth Swain Warren in Ramer, Tennessee. He had been an atomic energy engineer and served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years before he retired. Robert is survived by his wife, Pauline of Albuquerque; son, Mike Warren and his wife, Pat of Las Lunas, NM; sister, Lawell Alexander, of Selmer, TN; two grandchildren, Erin and Rachel of Las Lunas, NM. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with the Rev. Tise officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
