Clow -- Leonore Virginia (Rome) Clow, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2001 in the company of her husband, children and grandchildren. Mrs. Clow was born on August 8, 1921 in Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by her husband, James Martin Clow of Albuquerque; daughters, Diane Leonore Weber and husband, Tom of Pullman, WA and Kathleen Clow of Sandia Park, NM; sons, James Anthony Clow of Las Cruces, NM and Michael Raymond Clow and wife, Donna of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Michael Andrew Clow, Christianna Leigh Clow and Ashley Danielle Clow, all of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Viona Dunn of Milwaukee, WI; numerous nieces and nephews in Milwaukee. Her parents, Johanna Walcher and Joseph Rome, a brother, Edgar and a sister Dorothy Schultz preceded her in death. Leonore trained as a transcriptionist and worked with the telephone company in Milwaukee, WI during WWII. She was married to James Martin Clow, whom she had known since the second grade, on March 21, 1945 in Wichita Falls, TX after James' return from the war where he served as a 1st LT and pilot of a B-26 bomber in the Mediterranean Theater. In 1947, James and Leonore moved to Los Alamos, NM where they lived until 1984. She enjoyed hiking and snowshoeing in the Jemez Mountains with a local hiking group. Mrs. Clow was very involved with her children's activities, serving as Brownie Troup and Girl Scout Troup Leader, den mother for the Cub Scouts and an avid volunteer at sporting events. After retirement in Albuquerque she enjoyed attending local arts and craft exhibits and antique buying trips with her daughter. Leonore enjoyed baking and for many years made dozens of cookies at Christmas, many of them from her mother's recipes. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2001 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee, NE with Father Luis Jaramillo, celebrant.
