Montoya -- Alfredo I. "Fred" Montoya Jr., 63, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, July 26, 2001. He will be remembered for his easy going spirit, his love for of family and friends, his generosity, compassion, colorful stories, and jokes. Loved by all, Fred never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed, loved, and will live in our hearts forever. Born in Cuba, NM. May 30, 1938, he was preceded in death by his parents Alfredo and Lucilla Montoya and brother Louis Montoya. Fred is survived by his wife of 42 years Roberta Jean; children David, Chris and wife Anna, Joan, Monica and husband Michael, Julie and husband Uriel; grandchildren Gabriel, Alicia, Angela, Kimberly, Jonathan, Bradley, Savannah, and Taylor; great-grandson Isaac Rey; sisters Ruth Montoya and husband Albert, Minnie Olivas, Tillie Underwood, Dolores Romero and husband Robert, Dorothy Romero and husband Trancito; brothers Paul Montoia and wife Clemie, Robert Montoya and wife Dolores; sister-in-law Margaret Montoya, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who loved and will miss him. A service and visitation will be held at Family Worship Center Church, 5200 Iliff NW., on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A rosary will be recited at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church 5311 Phoenix NE, by Deacon Rudolfo Baca, on Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated also at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery in Cuba, New Mexico.
