Rivera -- Margaret Mary Rivera, age 76, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away July 8, 2001 after an illness. She is survived by two daughters, Julie Rivera of Cedar Crest, NM, Johnna Gonzales and husband, Henry of Albuquerque, NM; two sons, Ralph Rivera and wife, Dulce of Albuquerque, NM, Phil Rivera and wife, Josette of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Maria Aurora Sandoval of Ft. Collins, CO; two brothers, Filoberto Lujan and Agapito Lujan both of Pueblo, CO; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Fidel Rivera in 1970 and her brother, Rafelito Sandoval. Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Legion of Mary, Alter Rosary Society, the D.A.V. Chapter 3 and American Legion Post 99 Auxiliaries. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 10, 2001 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE. The Mass of Resurrection will be at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jose Nunez, Celena Nunez, Christina Candelaria, Gene Candelaria, Felipe Rivera and Maya Rivera. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of her arrangements.
