Bemis -- Eleanor Louise Bemis, age 86, and a resident of TorC for the past three years, died at Memorial Medical Center on October 22, 2001. Mrs. Bemis was a former longtime resident of Albuquerque since 1942 (58 years) and moved to TorC to be closer to her daughter, Florence Hall. Eleanor was born on September 1, 1915, in Oak Creek, Colorado, the daughter of Ralph and Amie (Hood) Robinson. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Cathedral in Albuquerque, NM; a member of Order of Eastern Star; an avid bridge player and enjoyed bowling. She was honored in the Women's Hall of Fame of Bowlers and was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elk's Auxiliary. She leaves behind her two daughters, Florence Hall of Truth or Consequences, Shirley and husband, Don Nielson of Albuquerque; a son, Bill and wife, Kay Bemis of Placitas; seven grandchildren, Loren Hall and wife, Jackie, Clint and wife, Juanita Hall, Kelli and husband, Dale Marshall, Nisa and husband, Tom Brown, Valerie and husband, Albert Disch, Scott and wife, Pam Nielson and Kristi Bemis; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Ralph"Skip" Bemis and a granddaughter, Vanessa Nielson. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 in the Chapel of French Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Shon A. Wagner officiating. A Service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chester T. French Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial park Cemetery in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Casa Esperanza, 1005 Yale Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87106 or to First Baptist Church, 220 Broadway, Truth or Consequences, NM 87901.
