Schold -- George B. Schold, Jr. died on November 5, 2001 in Glendale, AZ. George was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1915 and reared in Valley Stream, L.I. He married the former Lolita Decker in October 1940. Following Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the Army, eventually becoming an officer and B-17 navigator stationed in England. In September 1944 on his 16th mission, his aircraft was shot down over Holland and he became a POW until May 1945. After the war, he continued to fly and later became a Personnel Specialist and retired from the USAF as a Colonel in 1966. Immediately following his retirement, he took the position as Director of Personnel for the City of Albuquerque where he remained until 1971. In 1972, he began studies at the Episcopal Theological Seminary of Kentucky in Lexington leading to his ordination as Deacon in August of 1973 and Priest in May of 1974. He served as Assistant Pastor of St. Aiden's Episcopal. He was later moved to join the Anglican Catholic Church and established ACC parishes in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Farmington and Gallup faithfully pastoring and touching many lives. He remained in Albuquerque until the summer of 2000 when he moved to Glendale, AZ. He is preceded in death by wife, Lolita in 1994; and brothers, Stanley and Kenneth. He is survived by sister, Doris, of Albuquerque; brother, Charles, of Florida; three sons, Alan of Glendale, AZ, Robert of Albuquerque and Njal of Durango, CO; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Viewing is at Fitzgerald's at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2001. Funeral Mass at St. Peter's Anglican Catholic Church at 12:00 noon, Friday, November 9, 2001 with interment following at Santa Fe National Cemetery. He lived a life full of service to others. Eternal rest and salvation are surely his.
