Magill -- William A. Magill Jr., age 74, of Belen died at a local hospital Saturday November 17, 2001. William moved to Belen four years ago, after Spending the past sixteen years of retirement with his wife Beverly in Jamaica, West Indies. William was born in Woodridge, NJ and lived in NJ all of his life prior to retirement. William served in the United States Navy during WWII, attended Hofstrau University in Long Island, NY. After college he played semi-professional football, for the Boonton Bears, in NJ. He worked in the banking industry in NJ the majority of his life. He enjoyed hunting, traveling the world, animals and his relaxing in his swimming pools. He volunteered as a coach for little league and was worked with cub scouts. William is survived by his wife, Beverly, of NM; daughters, Melissa and husband, Scott Cameron of SC, Nancy Tag and husband, Nik Scordato of NY; sons, Jeffery and wife, Michele Magill of FL, Peter and wife, Cynthia Tag of NM, Kyle Tag and Karen Roush of NM, William Magill of PA; grandchildren, Brett, Aisha, Ryan, Justin, Sean, Danielle, Billy, Dylan, and Jack. Cremation has taken place. A Committal Service will be held at Friday November 23, 2001 11:00 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery Santa Fe, New Mexico. William was a beloved father, friend to many, and will be sadly missed. Arrangements under the direction of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE.
