Vigil -- Chief Boatswains Mate (retired) Rosendo Vigil, born on September 25, 1932 went home to be with our Lord on February 4, 2003. He is preceded in death by his parents Alfredo and Magdalena Vigil and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Damacio and Elvira Lucero. Mr. Vigil is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cecilia Vigil; and his children, Pauline Chavez, Anthony Vigil and wife, Buffy, Antoinette Gabaldon and husband, Henry; his six beautiful and beloved granddaughters, Lutrecia and Shelby Vigil, Audriana, Breeanna, Liana and Teanna Gabaldon; brother-in-law, Prospero Lucero and sister-in-law, Alice Gabaldon; brothers, Aurelio Vigil and Alfred Vigil; sisters, Sally Romero and husband Adolfo, Inez Peralta and husband, Arturo, Mabel Reyes and husband, Rudy, Margaret Vigil and Annie Gutierrez and husband, Rudy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Vigil retired 30 years of faithful service from the U.S. Naval Reserves and retired from the Veteran's Affairs Hospital after 41 years of commitment and currently was employed at Kirtland (KAFB) Comminsary. Mr. Vigil will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the San Jose de Duranes Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. also at the San Jose de Duranes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Services are in the care of: Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222
