Valdes -- Chris L. Valdes, 59, a resident of Albuquerque for 32 years, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Edwina Valdes; children, Christy Anaya and husband, Michael and Roberta Valdes and fiancé, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Cordy Haile and Nora Ballou, both of Colorado, Angie Marsh and husband, Ray of Arizona and Arlene Hernandez and husband, Tom of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph. Chris was a schoolteacher for 30 plus years with A.P.S. He served in the U.S. Army. Chris was very loved and involved through the community, and was a Deputy Sheriff for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department. He was a devoted, loving husband and father. Services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
