Nicholls -- Russell"Russ" Hall Nicholls, a resident of Placitas, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2003. He was born on February 4, 1948 in Brockton, MA. Russ was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Association of Electrical Engineers and a member of the Mission Church of the Incarnation, St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. Russ was the owner of All Brands Microwave Repair in Rio Rancho. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He loved to play games including cards, backgammon, and computer games. Russ was a people person and was known for his practical jokes and pranks, always making others laugh. He was a stranger to no one and had a smile for everyone he met. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Russ was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ellen Hall Nicholls; and his brother, Henry Jr. (Buzz) Nicholls. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet; brother, John and wife, Dollene; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Debbie Jonen; a host of very special friends; and his four precious canine companions. Many thanks to the CCU nurses at Presbyterian Hospital who took such wonderful care of him. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, January 24, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
