Joe was born in Iron Mountain, MI on March 10, 1926 to Joseph George Danclovic and Elizabeth Lenore Frazee Danclovic. He lived in Albuquerque for the past 48 years. Joe was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and a member of the Amputee Coalition of America. He held a Master's Degree from SMU. For 31 years he worked in the fields of Personnel and Management Training at Sandia National Labs, where he was outstanding as well as loved and respected by his associates. He was a member of First Unitarian Church. On November 27, 1977 he was married to Roeine Trostel in Lamy, New Mexico. After retirement, they spent seven years"RVing" across the country, an experience of people and places that Joe cherished for the rest of his life. Joe had been a Charter member of the U U Westside Congregation, serving as president of its Board in 1996. He willingly served as discussion leader on numerous occasions because he was so effective at communicating his ideas and those of others, and taught a popular adult education course called"Building Your Own Theology." He was also a responsible and caring member of his community, serving on the Board of Paradise Hills Civic Association. For several years he and his wife, Roeine, delivered Meals on Wheels in the Rio Rancho area. When not serving others, Joe spent his free hours on Albuquerque golf courses. He was also a 38-year member of the YBYA Football Club. Joe will be sorely missed by all whose lives have been touched by his love, his gentle kindness, his wisdom, and his wonderful sense of fun. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, at 11 a.m. at First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle Blvd., NE Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the"Joe Danclovic Personal Growth Fund" in care of U U Westside Congregation, P.O. Box 45059, Rio Rancho, NM 87174-5059.
