Thorpe -- Otis Cleveland Thorpe, Jr. (O.C.) A native of Portsmouth, Virginia and a longtime resident of New Mexico went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Finch and husband, Darren of Iowa; step-daughters, Brenda Garcia and husband, Lawrence, Bernadette Olguin and Adrian Chacon; grandchildren who he loved with all of his heart Jerron Aragon, Danielle Garcia, Sierra Garcia, and Sebastian Garcia. Rex Moran and wife, Nobue, and their family held a special place in"OC's" heart. Rex and"OC" were like brothers. He is also survived by extended family members and many friends who were blessed to know him."OC" retired from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant in June of 1986 and loved his country. He was also retired from a national corporation with a plant in Albuquerque. Everyone who knew him would agree that he had a heart of Gold and he will be deeply missed. He was particularly proud of his grandchildren and did his best to encourage them to be their best. We will miss you"OC" but we find peace in knowing exactly where you are. Services are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2003 at Horan and McConaty in Aurora, Colorado. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Logan with Full Military Honors.
