Mease -- Col. John W. Mease, US Army, (Ret.), 90, a very loved and respected father, grandfather, and friend, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2003. He was born on August 6, 1912 in Barnsboro, PA. Col. Mease relocated to Albuquerque in 1987. He served in the US Army during WWII, and the Korean Conflict, in the South Pacific, and Germany. After retiring from the military, Col. Mease was associated with the United Refining Company in Warren, PA for 21 years; retiring again in 1975. He was a life member of Lawrence Lodge No.708, F & A-Masonic Lodge, Mt. Olivet Commandery #30, Temple Royal Arch Chapter No. 215, Legion of Honor, Zem-Zem Shrine Temple, Past-President Warren County Shrine Club, and the Royal Order of Jesters Court #58, all of Erie, PA, and he belonged to the 112th Infantry, 28th Division of the Pennsylvania National Guard, and the Officer's Reserve Corps. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Marie; son, Glen and wife, Catherine of Conroe, TX; granddaughters, Marcy Mease-Moser and husband, Pat and Lynne Mease-Daves and husband, Scott of Austin, TX; and their mother, our good friend Anne Mease; 2 great-grandchildren, Wesley and Casey Daves of Austin, TX; and 1 step-great-grandson, Tyler Moser. He will be truly missed by all his family and so many others. Services and Masonic Ritual, will be held Monday, January 6, 2003, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors and shrine bagpipes. Pallbearers will be Pat Moser, Glen Mease, Scott Daves, Tyler Moser, Phillip Moser, Gene Moser, Vincente Alvarado and Jim Butscher. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Daves and Larry Maxted. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, January 5, 2003, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to charity of your choice.
