Gomez -- Mr. Albert Gomez, life long resident of New Mexico, is now in peace with his Lord Jesus. Mr. Gomez succombed to a long illness and passed away in his home with his loving wife of 56 years and his children at his side on Friday, February 21, 2003. Mr. Gomez was the son of Jose and Josefa Gomez and was born in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Mr. Gomez worked for the railroad prior to serving int he U. S Army in World War I I. After his return from the service Albert and Dora's lifes crossed again and he married his sweetheart Dora Gonzales of Bosque Farms. He retired from KAFB after 38 years as a civil servent in 1984. Mr. Gomez was a faithful member of the Annunciation Catholic Church, After services, Albert and Dora were frequently seen gliding across the dance floor at the North Valley Senior Center on a Sunday afternoon with their many friends. Mr. Gomez was a life time member of the American Legion Post #99. Mr. Gomez is the beloved husband of 56 years to Mrs. Dora Gomez. Mr. Gomez is also survived by one daughter, Albertina T. Gomez-Wilkinson and husband Bill H., one son, Kenneth Paul Gomez; grandson, William Albert Paul Wilkinson, two grand daughters, Michelle Renee and Monica Therese; Two great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews. The remainder of Mr. Gomez's family and friends are too numerous to list, but his everlasting love, humor and wit will truly be missed by all. Mr. Gomez was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Gomez a truly devoted, Loving husband and father never complained or made personal requests for himself and always put everyone else first. His Memory will be forever cherished in the hearts and minds of his family as well as all who knew him. The abundance of love and grace he has brought to his family will never be forgotten. The Absence of his presence leaves a deep void in our lifes. A visitation for Mr. Gomez will be Monday evening from 7:00pm until 7:30pm in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30pm by Gabriella Nieto. A final visitaiton will be Tuesday morning from 8:00am until 8:30am at Annunciation Catholic Church, 2600 Vermont NE with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 8:30am by Father Ronald Bruckner. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30am with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be, Don Bilberry, John Birner, Jerry Chavez, Lawrence Gonzales, Willie Gomez Jr. and Bill Wilkinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Gomez, Delfino A. Gonzales, Jackie Gonzales, Ralph Sanchez and Raymond L. Sanchez. Arrangements by: GABALDON MORTUARY 1000 OLD COORS RD SW 243-7861
