Ashland -- Mary Catherine Ashland (Cat/Kay), 86, a long time resident of Albuquerque, was born on May 13, 1916, in Hindsville, AR to Joseph and Gertrude Phillips. She was called home on March 7, 2003, after an illness of heart disease. Catherine is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward L. Ashland; two daughters and their spouses, Sharon Richards and husband Darrell of Watsontown, Pennsylvania and Linda Dotson and husband James of Albuquerque; and a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Ashland of Eugene, Oregon. Catherine was preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Ashland. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Phillip and Mark Ashland of California, Matthew Ashland of Oregon, James Holloman of Pennsylvania, and Jessica, Nichol and Stephanie Dotson of Albuquerque; and six great-grandchildren. Catherine was a long time member of Crestview Baptist Church of Albuquerque. She was a devoted wife and mother, tirelessly giving to help anyone in need. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Disposition will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. The family requests donations to a favorite charity in lieu of flowers. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
