Tafoya -- Christina C. Tafoya, otherwise known as"Grandma T", passed away peacefully at her home. She was 93. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; beloved daughter, Stella"Candi" Armijo; brothers, Julian and Dan Lovato; sister, Margaret Sanchez; and her great-grandchild, Christopher Church. She is survived by her daughters, Jo Cleghorn and husband, Rudy of El Reno, OK; Rita Rael and husband, Richard of Albuquerque and Georgianna Weathers, Ron Weathers of El Paso, TX; her sister, Emma Elkins; brother, Pete Lovato; and step-brother, Andres Castillo; sister-in-law, Fabiola Lovato. Christina was born in Pajarito, NM in 1909. She took great joy in cooking for her family, loved to dance, and was known as"twinkle toes" by her dance friends. Her love of God was known to all, and everyone would turn to her for prayer. She was deeply loved by her grandchildren and their spouses: Albert Armijo, Phil Church, Carol Wilson, Deborah Rael-Buckley, Valerie Lawrence, Lorraine Collins, Richard G. Rael, John Rael, Irene Rael-Ramirez, Ronnie Barberan, Maria Weathers, Suzie Crawley, and Allison Ramos. Much joy was brought to her by seeing her great grandchildren: Phillip Church, Heidi Elemenhorst, Heather Macky , Christina and Beau Wilson, Justin Lawrence, Joshua and Jordan Rael, Mateo and Annaleise Rael, Logan and Westin Barberan, Dillion and Madison Smith, Amanda Grae and Cameron Crawley, Siobahn Weathers, Ethan and Samantha Ramos; one great-great-grandson, Dixton Clark. Rosary Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church , 4020 Lomas NE.,on Thursday, March 20, 2003 at 7:00 pm. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Friday March 21, 2003 at 10:00 am. Burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lovelace Hospice in gratitude for their love and care.� Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW.
