Heemann -- A. Howard Heemann, 78, formerly of Dallas, Texas and a resident of Albuquerque since 1991, died Wednesday April 30, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julia Fisher Heemann of Albuquerque; children, Gretchen Schieffer and husband, Bill of Katy, Texas, Karyn Murphy and husband, Tom of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Paul Heemann and wife, Roberta of Dallas, Texas, Patricia Hoffman and husband, Gene of San Antonio, Texas, Joseph Heemann and wife, Yolanda of San Antonio, TX, and David Heemann of Temecula, California; sister, Julia Frances Berry of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, John Heemann of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Kathryn, Margaret and William Lawrence Jr. Schieffer, Thomas Joseph V, Julia Grace and David Murphy, and Catherine and Robert Heemann; step grandchildren, Jessica Cooper and husband, Chris, and Kandice Heemann; and step great-grandchildren, Melbourne John Cooper II and Steven Heemann. Mr. Heemann was born in San Diego, California. and grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas. Howard served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict, remaining in the U.S. Naval Reserves until 1961. He graduated from the University of Texas-Austin; then, began his career as a CPA. He served on the Dallas Society of CPAs and was active in the AICPA. He was a retired partner of KPMG. Always a devoted Catholic, Howard was knighted into the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. His true dedication was to the SERRA Clubs of Dallas and Albuquerque. He served on the Vocational Committees of the Diocese of Santa Fe and St. Bernadette Parish. He was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Memorial Rosary will be held Thursday, May 8, 7:30 p.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Deacon Al McLane presiding. Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Michael Sheehan on Friday, May 9, 10:30 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Interment of cremains will take place at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 9 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Father John Carney presiding.
