Vowell -- Dolly Jo Vowell, a resident of Albuquerque since 2000, died Sunday, June 8, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Kolodziejski, son-in-law, Larry; grandchildren, Andrew and Krista of Albuquerque; son, Jeff Vowell, daughter-in-law, Carol; grandson, Christopher; grandson, Daniel, his wife, Janine, and great-grandson, Matthew of Florida; and son, John Vowell and his wife, Susan of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff on October 13, 1999. Dolly was born in Pauls Valley, OK on May 4, 1932. She moved to Los Angeles as a child and became active in the California State Republican Party. Her passion as political activist continued during her years in Poughkeepsie, NY and Roswell, NM. Dolly was a lifelong learner and an avid quilter, needleworker, and miniaturist. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was loyal to her friends and a mentor and teacher to many. Cremation is pending. Private family Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
