Montoya -- Cecilia Montoya was called to be with her heavenly father on June 26, 2003. She passed away peacefully at her home with her immediate family by her side until her final breath. Ms. Montoya spent her life taking care of her family and ministering the word of God to those around her. She was born in Socorro, NM where she met and married her husband of 39 years Candido (Candy) Montoya. They made their home in in Los Chavez, NM. She was the mother of three children, Fred Mata of Alb. NM; Sandee Servantes of Los Chavez, NM; and Christopher (Chris) Montoya of Los Chavez, NM. She had five grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole Servantes, Shalyne Kristine Montoya, Lisa Gallegos, Angel Mata, Fred Mata, Jr.; She had four sisters, Francis Mata and husband Mike of Tucson, Arizona; Adela Aragon and husband Bill of San Bruno California; Geraline Millhorn and husband Jim of Safford, Arizona and Lydia (Loogie) Santillanes and husband Don (Donie) of Lemitar, New Mexico. In addition, she had many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who all loved her very much. Ms. Montoya lived her life serving the Lord and was an inspiration to all the lives she touched. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed. - Cremation has taken place and a prayer service will be celebrated in her honor on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Romero Funeral Home located in Belen, NM. (interment will follow at a later date) The family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Montoya's name to the National Stroke Association.
