Trujillo -- Mr. Edumenio Alphonso Trujillo died Monday, June 30, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 86. Mr. Trujillo was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church where he served as Eucharistic Minister. He was also active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and Jail Ministry. Mr. Trujillo also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the 6th Army Ranger Infantry Battalion serving in the South Pacific and Japan. He was decorated with the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Victory Ribbon. He was qualified as a Combat Infantyman and received the Combat Infantrymans Badge. He will be remembered for his good sense of humor, his love of John Wayne movies and his love of baseball. He was also a very good checker player. Mr. Trujillo was a Lumber Grader and retired from Duke City Lumber. He remained very active and was a handyman until the age of 82. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at the Lovelace Dialysis Unit and the staff of Manzano del Sol Nursing Home. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances A. Trujillo; son, Herman Edumenio Trujillo; daughters, Betty Jo Mares and husband, Mike of Santa Fe, Ruby Miller of Carlsbad, CA, and Vangie Gallegos and husband, Fernando of Las Vegas, NM; brothers, Alex Trujillo and wife, Margaret of Albuquerque, Julian Trujillo and wife, Mary of Victorville, CA, and Leroy Trujillo and wife, Marcella of Highland Heights, CA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Trujillo will be held on Thursday at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Dan Gallegos, Ben Trujillo, Chris Mares, Rick Mares, Nick Marez and John Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Trujillo, Donald Gallegos and David Gallegos. A Rosary for Mr. Trujillo will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW. 247-4124.
