Seligman -- Michael N. Seligman, 57, died Sunday, June 29, 2003. He is survived by his sister, Sandy Poling and her husband, Bob Poling and their daughters, Camian Larson, Mira Poling and Tasha Poling. He is also survived by his aunt, Shirley B. Williams, and many supportive and beloved cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Mickey Seligman. Michael was raised in Albuquerque, a descendent of the Bibo/Seligman pioneer mercantile families of New Mexico. He was a graduate of Highland High and graduated from UNM with a major in history and philosophy in 1971. His abiding passion throughout his life were the continued studies of history, philosophy, politics, and the human mind. He spent the last 19 years of his life in Ramona, California, where he was lovingly cared for by the staff of Changing Options and his aunt, Shirley. Those who knew him remember him as a brilliant child/man tormented by his own mind, who carried with him an innocence and an incredibly sweet and kind nature. He deeply affected many who's lives were touched by his. He bravely dealt with his terminal illness for the past ten months and died peacefully in Albuquerque, the home that he loved the most, under the devoted care of his sister, Sandra (as he called her). He will always be loved and he will be sorely missed. His Funeral will be held at Strong-Thorne Mortuary with Rabbi Paul Citrin officiating, at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2003. Donations may be made in his name to Leukemia research or Kaseman Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of: Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE 842-8800
