Casaus -- Gilbert M. Casaus, 68, died on Monday, July 14, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos M. and Isabel G. Casaus. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Agneda Casaus; two sons, Steven M. Casaus and wife, Marie-Helene of Albuquerque, Daniel M. Casaus of Santa Barbara, CA, five granddaughters, Lisa, Anna, Sara, Camille and Noelle Casaus. Five brothers, Carlos Casaus and wife, Delia, Isidore (Mike) Casaus and wife, Cecelia, Eugene Casaus and wife, Tina, Victor Casaus and wife, Maida, Ernest Casaus and wife, Jennie, all of Albuquerque. Three sisters, Marcella Martinez, Christine Casaus of Albuquerque, Dolores Fay of Inglewood, CO. Many special nieces and nephews. Gilbert was born in Santa Fe, NM, raised in Santa Rosa, NM until his move to Albuquerque in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 thru 1958, stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge #461. He was a business owner in the Albuquerque area for 30 years, of Duke City Body Rebuilding, until his retirement in 1997. Gilbert loved to tell stories of his ranching days in Elvira, New Mexico as a young man and share his knowledge of New Mexico history. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, July 16, at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 17, at Our Lady of Fatima at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow services. Pallbearers will be Michael Casaus, David Martinez, Robert Casaus, Carlos Santistevan, Adam Padilla and Robert Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Padilla, Eric Padilla, David Estrada, Joe Villanueva and Robert Myklak. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
