Witherspoon -- Donald Neil Witherspoon, 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, passed away Friday, June 20, 2003. He is survived by his sister, JoAnn Witherspoon Hennington and husband, Robert Leo of Scottsdale, AZ; niece, Suanne Hennington Johnson and husband, Eric of Noblesville, IN; great-nephew, Patrick Hurley and wife, Jill, and great-great niece, Allison Hurley of Phoenix, AZ. Neil was preceded in death by his mother and father, Myra and Frank G. (Buddy) Witherspoon. He was born and raised in Hereford, TX, graduated from Hereford High School in 1951, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War. He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1956 and moved to Albuquerque, where he was a member of the University Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, at West Park Cemetery in Hereford, TX, with visitation at Rix Funeral Directors, 105 Greenwood, Hereford, TX, before the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd.
