Tucker -- James Bruce Tucker, M.D., died Saturday, June 14, 2003 of natural causes. Dr. Tucker was born March 4, 1908 in Troy, Tennessee. He graduated from medical school at the University of Tennessee in 1935 and married Jennie Laverne Daniels. Dr. Tucker practiced medicine in Texas, Tennessee, Alaska, and Arizona for forty years. During his medical career, he was active in local and state medical societies, including being named as one of the earliest members of the National Board of Family Practice, his appointment as President of the Pinal County Medical Board, and his tenures as Chief of Staff of Homeoko Hospital, Pinal County Hospital, and Maynard Memorial Hospital. He had been named President of the Pinal County Medical Society several times. Dr. Tucker retired from private practice in 1973, and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jennie Laverne Tucker, daughter; Phyllis L. Miller of Albuquerque, grandsons; Harry B. Tucker of Nampa, Idaho, Thomas I. Tucker of Albuquerque, Richard J. Tucker of Boise, Idaho, Christopher S. Miller of Seattle, Washington, great grandchildren; Amanda Tucker, Tony Tucker, Ky Tucker, and Kody Tucker, great great-grandchild; Antonio Tucker-Cruz, nieces; Billie Lynn Tucker-Brown and Mary Ann Tucker-Matzdorf of Arizona, and Nancy Birdsong, as well as Charles Jones and Horace Jones of Tennessee, and John, Jerry, and Carl Dorman of Arkansas. Memorial services are to be held at The Dr. Denton Memorial Chapel at Anna Kaseman Hospital, 8300 Constitution Avenue, NE, Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at 2:00 pm.
