Claussen -- Buril Martin Claussen, 86, a resident of Albuquerque and former resident of Rio Rancho, died Monday, August 4, 2003. He is survived by his son, Larry Claussen and wife, Kathleen, of Albuquerque; daughter, Pam McCarty and husband, Brad Ball, of Omaha, NE; grandson, Nathan Claussen; granddaughters, Mindi McCarty and Jessi McCarty and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty Jane Claussen. Buril served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received the Combat Infantry Badge and Purple Heart during the Tunisian Campaign. He worked the Department of Agriculture for 34 years. Private graveside services were held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM, with Pastor David Bruskas officiating.
