Lapsley -- Francis Edwin Lapsley, 80, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1993, and coming to New Mexico from Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2003. Francis was born November 25, 1922 the son of Thomas J. and Anna King Lapsley in Newark, New Jersey. He had worked for the J.C. Penny Company before retiring. He had been a former member of the Rio Rancho Elks Club. Francis is survived by his son, Michael Stephen Lapsley and wife, Leslieann of Rio Rancho; one sister, Patricia Miller of New Jersey; one brother, Richard Lapsley of New Jersey; and his former wife, Vivian M. Lapsley. The Committal Service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in the Rose Garden in Vista Verde Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, it has been suggested that memorials in Francis name be made to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
