Ortega -- Maria S. Ortega, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956 died peacefully at home after a ten month battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 5, 2003. She is survived by her children, Connie Montoya and husband, Arturo of Ft. Worth, TX, Ted Ortega of Albuquerque, Dolores Frank and husband, Darryl, David Ortega and wife, Yvonne, Laurie Casias and husband, Pat, and Angela Benavidez and husband, Erwin, all of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Salomon Ortega in 1987. Mrs. Ortega retired from APS and recently was a foster grandparent at Tomisita Elementary."Mom, you will be missed but your faith will live through us." Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 7, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas at Tennessee.
