Elmendorf -- Harry H. Jr. (Hank), age 54, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 after a long bout with cancer. He was born in Waco, Texas and traveled with his Air Force family until college called. He graduated from Highland High School, Albuquerque, New Mexico and was a graduate of New Mexico State University, earning both Bachelors and Masters degrees. Hank in survived by his wife, Jean and stepson, Tyler; his parents, Col. Harry and Rosemary Elmendorf of Albuquerque; a sister, Susan Elmendorf Griffin of Reserve, New Mexico; Susan's children, Kay Griffin of Denver, Colorado, Ty Griffin and wife, Nichole and their son, Luke of Lubbock, Texas, Couy Griffin of Paris, France, and Ryan Griffin of Reserve, New Mexico; his auns, Zela Lorenz of Boerne, Texas and Durelle Sargent and husband, Alan, of Vancouver, Washington; Hank's special cousin, Robin Tonkin, and wife, Stephanie, of Albuquerque; and many other cousins. Hank was an avid racing fan, having particpated from age 12 until the present. He and Jean have been business associates in sports bars in Albuquerque, which included Duffy's, Stetson's and presently, Marrlarky's at Hotel Circle. He and Jean's loyal employees and patrons have expressed their great sorrow in his passing. He will be missed! A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's On The Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond Pl. NE on Wednesday, April 2, at 12:00 noon.
