APODACA -- Candido Apodaca, 92, a lifetime resident of Corrales, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2003. Candido was born May 11, 1911 the son of Daniel and Batrice Martinez Apodaca in Corrales. He had been a farmer most of his life. He was a veteran of WW II and fought in the Southern Philippines Liberation Campaign. Candido was a member of the American Legion Post 69 in Alameda. He was a member of the San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales, and later at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Candido is survived by his wife, Lena (Salce) Apodaca; daughter, Charlene Whiteman Davis of Rio Rancho; grandchildren, Terri Davis Babick and husband, Randy, Jeanine Davis Lombardo and husband, Tano; four great- grandchildren; one sister, Emma Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4,2003 from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. The Service for Candido will be held on Friday, September 5, 2003 at 9:30 AM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Interment will be at 12:00 Noon in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe followed by a reception at Vista Verde at 3:00 PM. Arrangements by: Vista Verde Mortuary Rio Rancho, New Mexico 892-9920
