GABALDON -- Mayme Gabaldn, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed peacefully to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 5, 2003. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred; and a son, Donald Gabaldn, both in 1978; her parents, Luciano and Maria Romero; her grandson, Fred Gabaldn Jr., in 2000; her granddaughter, Erica Trujillo in 2001; her brothers, Barney and Jesus Romero; her sisters, Stella Finch; Petrita Cordova; and son-in-law, Richard Lucero. Mayme is survived by her daughters, Lucy Chavez and husband, Charles of Los Lunas; Juanita Lucero of Belen; Diane Padilla; and Genola Gabaldn, both of Los Lunas; her sons, Fred Gabaldn and wife, Shirley of Albuquerque, NM; Charles Tommy Gabaldn of Los Lunas; and Eugene Gabaldn and wife, Adela of Albuquerque; her ten loving grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Lee Romero and wife, Jennie; and her two sisters, Pula Griego and husband, Ramon; Elvira Romero and husband, Fred; and a sister-in-law, Chanita Romero. Also many loving nieces, nephews and friends. All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church beginning with a viewing on Sunday, September 7, 2003 at 5:30pm followed by a rosary at 6:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 8, 2003 at 10:00am with Father Albert Gallegos officiating. Interment will follow at the Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos and Brian Chavez; George Gabaldn; Donovan Lucero; Charles Chavez, Sr.; and Charlie Chavez, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy Wright; Adrian Lopez; Anthony Sanchez; Nicholas and Esequiel Trujillo.
