ROCKWELL, SANDRA In Memory of Sandra Rockwell 3/25/37-3/6/14 Sandra, Sandy, Miss Rock, Coach Rock was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, teacher, coach, mentor, friend, and confidant. She had a wonderful marriage for over 52 years to the father of her two children, she had four amazing grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She led a life full of loyalty and giving. A teacher at Rio Grande High School, substitute, and coach for 26 years, she guided and influenced countless students and athletes to strive beyond what they thought possible, and was proud of each individual success. She earned many accolades for her coaching skills, and was even named National High School Softball Coach of the Year in 1982. Lessons she taught in and out of the classroom and practice ingrained themselves into the hearts and minds of her pupils long past their high school years and into their adult lives. As a friend, she listened and helped innumerable people through hardships, and for this was blessed. Her friends and family grew to count on the impossibly wonderful combination of loyalty, kindness, generosity and humor that made up her soul. The laughter and sincerity that followed her through life ensured that no one around could ever feel anything but cared for. This led to the expansion of family to include friends that became integral to the network of support that evolved around her. Sandra is missed by four generations of people who loved her dearly, and whose capacity for caring and acceptance have everything to do with the lessons that she taught them. The positive influence she had upon the world around her carry on through the actions and memories of the people she left behind. We miss her gullibility, and let's not forget her pasole. This last year we miss you her sparkling eyes and warm smile, and so much more, every day. She is with us in our hearts and we feel her touch us and guide us every day. Any remembrances can be sent to Stars for the Cure, PO Box 6023, Bend Oregon, 97708. A nonprofit group of walkers made up of cancer survivors and those left behind.
