HAWK, JOHN M. Age 96, passed away on February 26, 2015. Before the end of WWII, he had served in the CCC and as a radio operator for the Army Air Corp FBI and the Merchant Marines. He met his beloved bride, Jean (deceased in 2007), in Washington D.C. and they were married in 1943.Their son, Dr. John D. Hawk, was born in 1953. John received his BSEE from Iowa State in 1950 and was employed by NASA in New Mexico, Long Island, and Houston during the Lunar Landing and Shuttle Projects. Besides enjoying golf, he was a dedicated Baptist Deacon and Sunday School Director for over 60 years, most his years at Albuquerque First Baptist Church. He resided in Albuquerque for 33 years and moved with his son, John, to Scottsdale, AZ 3 years ago. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, 10:00 a.m., with services to follow at 11:00 a.m., at FRENCH-Westside. Interment will be at Vista Verde Cemetery in Rio Rancho.
