BARTON, THELMA JANE Age 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015. She was born in Brandonville, West Virginia to Lovel and Lena Summers on February 28, 1928. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Floyd, Delbert, Donald and Wayne. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, William (Bill); daughters, Gail Cooley and husband Jerry and Deborah Davis; sons, William Barton and wife Lu, and Kenneth Barton and wife Michelle; her grandchildren, Erika Vreeland, Kristy Zollner, Nathan Cooley, Shane Davis, Chase Davis, Dustin Davis, Denae Davis, Rusty Barton, Brett Barton, Amory Barton, and Lena Barton; ten great- grandchildren; brothers, Gerald & Larry; sisters, Wilma, Jean and Betty; and many nieces and nephews. Thelma was born a coal miner's daughter. She worked hard but loved life. She relocated to NM in 1952 when Bill went to work for Sandia National Laboratories. She loved to travel, camp, fish and read. She was accomplished at cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and many crafts. She loved family, her pets and doing for others. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming with interment following at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
