BERRY, MARJORIE ANN Passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, after courageously battling metastatic uveal melanoma. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis; her younger son, Kevin, of Prescott, AZ; and her older son, Steven, and his wife, Sarah, and their sons, Matthew and James, all of Sandia Park, NM. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Demy, and sister-in-law, Ferial, of Falls Church, VA and their children, Richard Demy and Victoria Lester. Marjorie was born Marjorie Ann Demy on October 29, 1946, in Harrisburg, PA. In 1967, she became a registered nurse and practiced nursing in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Washington, DC, and Virginia, before she and Dennis moved to California, where Steven was born. From that point on, she dedicated herself to her raising her sons, Steven and later Kevin, by providing a loving and nurturing home environment and by tirelessly supporting the seemingly endless array of activities that engaged the "boys". In 1977, Marjorie and Dennis moved to New Mexico, where Kevin was born and where they have lived for nearly 38 years. Although Marjorie spent most of her time helping others, she managed to squeeze in time to pursue some of her own interests, including lots of reading, sewing and knitting crafts, gourmet cooking, aerobics, and making elaborate scrapbooks of her travels. She even served as an income tax return preparer for a few years. However, Marjorie's true passion was traveling, so it is not surprising that she set foot on all seven continents and visited 90 of the current 193 UN member countries. Her love for animals, in particular, took her to Africa, Costa Rica, the Amazon, and Borneo, and along the way, Marjorie met, became close friends, and repeated trips with numerous traveling companions. Throughout her life, Marjorie was kind, caring, and giving, and she could be counted on to make every day special, particularly celebrations. She will be sorely missed by everyone who has ever known her. According to her wishes, Marjorie will be cremated, and her ashes will be dispersed by her family in several places she especially loved. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel. In lieu of flowers, Marjorie requested that memorial donations may be made in her name to the World Wildlife Fund, worldwildlife.org.
