ORTIZ, ADOLPH R. JR. Adolph R. Ortiz Jr. age 92, of Albuquerque, passed into eternal life peacefully on January 20, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 5, 1923 in Parkview, NM to Adolfo and Benigna Ortiz and raised in Albuquerque. He enlisted into the Marine Corps on December 11, 1942, and served until January 2, 1946. He was honorably discharged from the military as a Corporal. He served active duty during the Pacific Ocean theatre in World War II. On December 27, 1952 he married Dolores Garcia. They raised seven children together. He retired after 30 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Dolores and son, Steve, and son-in-law, Robert. He is survived by two sons, Richard Ortiz (Olga) and Daniel Ortiz; four daughters, Lorraine Sanchez (Gerald), Lillian Coleman, Rebecca Coleman (Terry) and Karen Pena (Frank); 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Adolph was a member of the local DAV Chapter where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his military friends. He was a devout Catholic and a member of San Felipe Catholic Church for over 55 years. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 309 Stover Ave. The mass and funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
