MEARNS, NANCY C. Nancy C. Mearns, 91, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. She was born in Queens, NY, spent her youth in the Sawmill District of Albuquerque and graduated from Santa Fe High School. She served in the US Army during WWII. Nancy is survived by her son, Robert K. Reed, and his partner, Debbie Kuester; her step-grandchildren, Robert McDonnell, Marcella Stevens, John Strader and Matthew Strader; and numerous great-grandchildren and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrie and Florence Dalbey; her first husband, Robert Reed; and her second husband, William Mearns. Nancy will always be remembered for her loyal and loving support of her many friends and as a consummate hostess who filled a room with her beauty, elegance, and grace. Cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. A celebration of her remarkable life is planned to coincide with her birthday in mid-April.
