FREEDMAN, SYLVIA Our mom, Sylvia Freedman, was born on August 20, 1923. Mom passed away at 5:19 in the afternoon on Friday, December 26, 2014. It was snowing. She was well into her 91st year on this planet. Sylvia was born and raised in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area of Pennsylvania. Her family moved to New York City when she was a teenager. Sylvia finished her schooling at DeWitt Clinton High School. She met our dad when they both worked at the IRS. They married, raised a family of 3 boys in the Bronx. Over the years Teddy, Mark, Larry, mom and dad moved and resettled in New Mexico. We loved our mom very much! She had many friends and family who loved her as well. She loved her dog PeeWee, as did her whole neighborhood! Mom instilled in us the values that helped us to be better people. Those values will be with us forever. We will miss you mom. You were the greatest. Dad will be glad to have you back. We love you mom! Our mom, Sylvia Freedman, is survived by her three sons, Ted, Mark and Larry; her two grandchildren, Barak and Sahar, (Mark's children); her daughter-in-law Lorraine Palmer (Ted's wife); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. We will all miss mom. The Burial Service will take place on Thursday, January 8th at 10:30am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 at Ronald Gardenswartz Jewish Community Center in Albuquerque, 5520 Wyoming Blvd. on Friday, January 9th.
